So I realize this will probably be polarizing, but as I brought a lot of my junk from my old daily driver to this one, it was all rolling around the trunk, not too many storage compartments in the Stinger. My older car and my work bags utilize the molle system for bags and pouches, so I already have a bunch of the stuff, specifically organized for daily driving, work, etc.

I decided to add a molle panel or 2 in the trunk to attach stuff, but there is no wall space that's not in the way of lifting the spare tire cover, and I didn't want it flat on the trunk floor to get squashed by whatever I put in. Only spot I could find was suspended under the decklid, which actually works well since it's lifted up when the hatch opens.

I pulled out any heavy items or moved them to the bottom, close to in line with the pivot, so the actuators don't have much extra weight to lift. It keeps my stuff organized and not sliding around everywhere, and I can easily transfer it to my other car or work bags.

Here is my result. The blank spots are for a couple of extra items not yet on there.

Thanks, I simply added some grommets to the Molle panel, then screwed it right into the decklid with some short wood screws and washers. There seems to be a stiff molded plastic panel in the center of the decklid, not the typical particle board, so coarse threaded wood or drywall screws work, just gotta be sure they're short enough to not puncture through the top.

Good idea , does it bounce going over bumps ??

I see a nice spot for a 25" 300 AAC BO and a couple of mags. Just in case ZOMBIES.

Westcoast, nah, the decklid is held down the hatch and sits steady, the bags themselves are fairly taut, as is the panel, haven't heard any bouncing it rattling yet.

Kama, if you could do a full hidden/ secured enclosure hanging under the decklid, it would be cool, but I wouldn't want to put that kind of weight on the hatch.

Can we get pics of the fastening locations below and above?

I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly, I simply installed 9 grommets on the panel in a 3x3 grid, I used short drywall screws with a stack of washers to space it out so it would not puncture the top of the decklid. Shorter, wide panhead screws would have worked better, but I didn't have any, I may swap them out if I ever remember to pick some up, but this works fine for me. The panel itself is from amazon, meant to hang behind a front car seat. There is nothing to see from above the decklid, the screws do not protrude on the top side, it looks totally normal.

Here's a couple of pics of one of the screws/ grommets, and a closer shot of the right edge with the 3 screws holding it. I also took a sharpie and colored in the silver washers black to make them blend.

Thank you!

The only drawback is that if (for me, when) you need the height and have to remove the panel.

Agreed, but I'm only losing about 3-4 inches, chances are that if its too tall for the bags, it's too tall for the whole decklid and I'd be pulling it anyways, which is not hard to do.

That's what I meant - if you want to carry the stuff in the bags, you'd need to remove them from the panel.
