Hello wanted to get insight on lozic, sixth tuner and lap 3 for an ecu and tcu tune. Want to hear people opinions on the reliability of all the options. I know tuning the car makes it less reliable than stock but I want to know what people have experienced and which is the best bang for buck and still holds some amount of the reliability? Running an jb4 in map 1 on 91 has some timing pulls which is expected but if anyone has a good alternative without running e I’d appreciate the input. Should I stick with my jb4?

I had a Racechip GTS long term shortly after I bought the car. The Racechip piggyback was fine but I wanted something more refined, so I got a LAP3 ECU. When you buy a LAP3 ECU tune, you receive a tuned ECU so your factory ECU remains untouched. Drivability and reliability with the Lap3 tune is excellent, zero CELs and zero overboost issues. I drive 100% in sport mode manually shift so I can drop 1 to 2 gears (3 if at highway speeds) to be in the powerbrand. Power delivery is very smooth like the car can factory with the add power.

Are you expecting more power with no corrections with other ECU tune?

Yes. I use a 96 octane gas blend. The Lap3 tune timing functions a little differently but I still get some correction, not much though (between .75 degrees and 1.5 degrees of timing corrections). The only way to have zero is by going meth injection. With my exhaust setup, boost is around 19 to 22 psi depending on outside conditions and I've observed timing at 11 to 13 degrees at those boost levels.

Ok. Nice. My logs, BMS BEF, JB4 map 5 and 6, EWG connectors, HKS spark plugs and BMS intakes. The price for Lozic is ridiculous. With JB4 you known what your engine is doing.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
BMS BEF + JB4 gives you flexibility. It requires Ek1, but you can use it as a diagnostic tool, to reset your adaptive and tune TCU.

For daily driving, I use map 4, when in need I go to map 5 or 6. It gives you the possibility to go with a lower map when you have to fill it with fuel of poor quality.

If i could get a tune where i dont have such heavy corrections using only 91 octane id be stoked. The car would pull around 3-6 degrees on Map 1 in all cylinders. I ended up doing an e85 blend to correct this issue. Any tune is going to make timing corrections right? Id just like a little more power than stock and some burbles would be nice.

Unfortunately, 91 octane is recommended from factory in stock form. 91 just doesn't have much octane for higher compression ratios. I would honestly recommend a custom Dyno tune for 91 octane, that way the tuner can dial in everything for your specific needs.

How could I go and get a custom tune done? Haven’t heard anyone do that?

I've seen quite a few owners have custom tunes on the 3.3t/3.5t/2.0t/2.5t performance Facebook group. Not all shops with a Dyno can tune KDM cars so you'll have to ask around your area.

It's not like you have problems with JB4 map1, go for the ECU tune and get much more power. If you can, put your log file, map1 and map0 (JB disabled).

These tunes, especially for higher boosts use some ignition advancing, sometimes very aggressive. You will see much more corrections on your Ign2-6.

The problem with tunes like Lozic is, that you have to send them ECU for any corrections.
You can go with Ek1 and SXTH. You do your ECU flash at home, log in, send it to him and then receive a new file by mail. You can always flash with the original ECU.

Having in mind the support, I can recommend BMS BEF+ JB4.

At least change your spark plugs for HKS gapped to 0022.

Lozic USA is local to me so it’s not to bad, but my map 1 timing pull was from 3-6 in ign 2-6 not sure if this was bad or not? Terry recommended I through in some e85 and that fixed it I just don’t wanna stop for e all the time. But I’ll definitely think about the bef tune.

Yours looks really good, got some stuff to think about i guess. Evrything was great when i was on e30 just my fuel pump got mad I think i had to much e in my system.

Also sucks that pump E85 isn't always truly E85. So 5 gallons of E85 from one gas station carries a different total octane than 5 gallons at another.

I filmed a Stinger back in December that got a Lozic tune that ended up with 494hp & 592tq. Funny thing is during the filming of this car, the owner of Neotech came down to the shop to introduce himself. (He was making his rounds to the different KDM Shops here in Socal. Introducing the brand etc.) Neotech's CEO is a professional race car driver in Korea so we asked him who his favorite tuner was. He mentioned that his favorite tuner was Daniel and that he had left Korea awhile back. He did not know that Daniel / Lozic was literally down the street from us. We called Daniel up and he came down and they both went to have lunch together. Small world. I can definitely tell you though that Lozic did an amazing job with this Stinger and I see cars being brought to him all the time where other tuners were stumped and he was able to figure it out. Anyways here's the video of the stinger I filmed:
