My only complaint about the Stinger is the sh***t quality of paint and exterior trim pieces.
The sub par quality is easily seen with paint, it lacks shine and doesn't look very good.
I have a 2005 Rav4 and the paint looks better! And also got chipped. Its funny because my 2005 rav4 doesn't have a chip like this after all these years of driving. Due to bad luck or weak paint?

where is this chip ? maybe post a long shot as well ..this stuff will keep your trim looking new ..actually any cleaner wax works really wel for removing water marks and staining on your trim or body panels
I'm not seeing poor paint/clear coat on my Silky Silver. Total thickness is right where the industry standard is, thinner than some, thicker than some: Paint is just ugh

Thats a pretty deep chip under fairly high velocity by the impact marks . Before putting screens in my vents I got a similar chip right between the 2 ppf panels on the lower rear panel . Since then a couple of well desrved chips in the hood . My body shop tells me that the paint is as good as most mass produced cars BUT that the "accountants make cars now " meaning it could have more color coats and more clear.................sorry to see . The Kia pens are not a close color match , Chip Doctor ??
The thickness of the clear coat can be estimated by comparing the thickness of the paint under the hood (no clearcoat) vs. the door jam (a thin clearcoat) vs. the exterior panels (full thickness clearcoat).

Yeah the chip was deflected by a semi travelling on the opposite direction. It sounded very loud, was expecting worst damage by how loud the impact was TBH.
I've purchased OEM ABP (Aurora Black Pearl) touch up and also clear coat.
I also purchase the Langka blob eliminator, but I'm not having much luck with it because it just wipes all the touch up paint off when applied..
I noticed someone mentioned putting a screen over your brake venting I’ve grown tired of maintaining an Aurora black stinger with road spray tar mud etc. spraying through the vents on the side of the car anyone have a recommended solution? Did you use mesh or screen and how did you mount it and has it stayed in place? I live in Minnesota so lots of snow and slush to

I live in MN too, I my car is pantera metal, which is basically as bad as black trying to keep clean. I don't think my car is any more or less dirty than my old car. I get having the vents would allow stuff to pass through there but my last car, 2007 grand prix had mudflaps, which I find to be extremely hillbilly, those things barely did anything anyway. Those were factory and were drilled into the fenders. Where do you think the car started rusting at first? Exactly where those mudflaps were mounted. Maybe newer style ones are better?
Exactly I used to use stainless steel hardware and had better luck now everything is factory OEM pre-fitted uses rubber tabs and you just press them on they look fine they’re very unobtrusive which means they basically don’t work that well hard to say if it’s worth it
The Stinger's paint is about average on a modern car. As westcoastgt explained, most modern cars are designed by the accounting department and the blueprint handed to the engineers to "make it happen". Paint has been an area getting compromised for years, which is why ppf and ceramic have grown exponentially among enthusiasts in the past decade+.

Idk man, our 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a paint color that was a one year option and that paint has held up much better than the paint on my 2020 Stinger. When I think of Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler quality I wouldn't think it'd be great. The car has been driven up north many times in 6 years. Not to mention it sat outside for at least a full year until we were able to buy a house with a garage space for it. It's seen basically the same automatic washes that my car has seen and after every cabin trip we run it through using the soft touch wash. My car has only been in the touch less and it has way more swirl marks in only 2 years.

I feel it's less than average. No actual facts, just comparing it to my last car and the Jeep. I do have the PPF on the front end but I probably shoulda done the entire hood and both front fenders. Was at the dealership a few weeks ago, you can definitely tell the used Stingers that didn't have the PPF compared to the ones that do.
