So I drive my car a lot and i'm not happy with the tread life on the PS4S. I don't drive extremely aggressive and I don't mind spending similar prices to the PS4S. I'm looking for summer tires as I have a winter set but I suppose I could give an All Season tire a try if it can give decent summer grip with good wet grip also. What are some other good alternatives or what has everyone else used with success?

If available for your car, Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I’ve used them on 2 different vehicles with outstanding results. I will be looking for the same tire or equivalent once my PS’s are worn. Spec them out for yourself... db

I myself couldnt get myself to pay the $400+ cad per corner for the pilot sports so i tried out the indy 500’s from firestone they are pretty good so far i dont notice that much of a difference between the two, so far good traction and are about 1/2 the price of the pilot sports

The Michelin PS3's are pretty good, my only othere recommendation is the Pirelli P Zero's but I don't think that they are much better tread life in my experience. Grip always comes at a price

That's what I went with. I like them

DWS are great tires. I’ve owned several sets but you need to be ready to accept that you’ll never get the stated tread life out of them. 50% was my average over 3 different sets on 3 different cars. Your results may vary

How do they compare to the stock PS4? Around the same grip and ride?
Not quite as much grip as the Pilots but the trade off for treadwear was just what I was looking for. Great wet traction as well.

I’m trying the Falken Azenis FK510. So far, it’s pretty good, just doesn’t seem to have the initial grip the Michelin’s have

+1 for the Indy 500s

I've had good luck with Continental DWS tires. Good traction (one of the few with ANY snow rating at all), wear well and very quiet.

Treadwear - HAH! I’ve been driving nearly 50 years now and have NEVER had a tire make it to the number advertised!! It’s possible I get rid of them with what some may call “Life left”, but to me - tires are the final line between us and the pavement. Therefore - no corners cut... and no chances taking them down to the wear bars if they don’t perform in a way I feel confident.

Indy 500 guys - are you experiencing any balancing issues? Mine would get all vibrate-y after a couple days of sitting, and the only way I mitigated it was to put 'em at 46 psi. And that just reduced it, didn't make it stop. Even got 'em road force balanced, no change... they'd go out of balance after a bit.

OP, to be honest there's nothing quite like the PS4S. Even the PS4 is less grippy, and that's an excellent tire.

I have none of those issues with the Indy 500; And I've had them for 2 years now.

Interesting... maybe I'll try and snag another set when I get a new set of wheels and try them out again.

I miss the Goodyear Eagle GTs.
Racing tire on the outside, rain tire on the inside. I bought three different sets for my FXT. For some reason, they removed them from the market

can't beat the Firestone Indy 500 for value! got 40,000 miles on my Chrysler 300S where the standard tires barely got over 25,000. only drawback is they are a UHP summer tire. My daughter needed to drive to Northern AZ and NM so she got the MICHELIN AS3+. Honestly only real differences is in cold temps and snow.

I think I will be able to get another set of PS4S on the rear and then swap all 4 probably next year after winter. I just put on the fronts and don't want to waste what is left on those and my rears have been going much faster than my fronts. I will try something different for that set and see how it works for me.

Can vouch for DWS, however if you want an ultra performance tire check out Federal 595RS-RR they don't have a great tread wear but they perform at the level of Toyo R888's at like half the price.

I’m also running these I’ve done 15,000kms & find them to be a really good performance tyre.
I came from the Continental’s & I feel the FK510 are comparable.
I’m very happy overall & they are wearing well & I would anticipate to get 50,000 kms out of them so time will tell.
