Has anyone installed or considered installing some LED door sill scuff plates? There's a couple that I'm eyeing. I know there's several YouTube videos on how to's but would like to hear some first hand experience from anyone who has done it with their Stinger. Thanks.

Where are you seeing these? Amazon? eBay?

edit: Now available here:

eBay, third party Korean products. Anything is better than the dull and boring door scuff plates that come with the stinger. At a minimum, the word stinger should’ve been etched into them. Installing them seems straight forward and no more difficult than changing the badges. I’m just more nervous about the wiring aspect. These kits don’t come with installation guides.

Probably best to wire to dome light. However another post on the factory puddle lights mentioned removing headliner to get to some light circuit...screw that.

I really want lit sills too as my sorento has them. Maybe have dealer install the puddles and then "tap" the wiring they bring down. Maybe a little more money but I'm not a fan of headliner remove and install.

I believe I saw these on another website...if I recall correctly the listing itself mentions to tap the door wiring...

Same here I have my eye on a set on ebay. You will need to tap into the switch that activates the dome lights when you open the doors. Should only be two wires.

Yes, but where are said wires? That is the question.

I was hoping to tap a dome light lead at the B pillar. Seems best place for both front and rear sills. Otherwise you may have to run a lot of extra wire to hit all four corners with power.

Maybe tap into the footwell light. Less wiring and wear and tear on the car. Just a thought.

There's several YouTube DIY videos that show how to install these. You'll have to be comfortable with pulling out pieces of your car and wiring. Also, for the rear door scuffs, they look pretty angular so you'd most likely have to heat up, bend and mold the rears to have it sit flush. Contemplating on if I do just the front or front + rear.

I just finished doing that mod (and man, did it feel like I removed almost every trim panel to do it). Tap for that was in the Driver A-Pillar, Yellow wire #10 and Red wire #32. I wanted to avoid that and do it lower in the harness, but it was going to take an entire dash removal to get to a good spot in the harness. Yikes!

Wow, that took some doing! Thanks for the heads up on which wires to tap! Do you have pics to show off the fruits of your labor? :)

I do, and instead of further hi-jacking this thread (sorry Manchuz) I figured I would post of my results and some words to the wise on what to expect if anyone decides to tackle them: Puddle Lights Install

If you have some basic skills with installing electrical stuff it won't be hard as there are just two wires you have to wire and best place to wire them is dome light so sills turn on and off when doors are opened and closed.
If you have no clue about this like me (knowing how and to what wire to connect wires from sills) then it's best to let the pro do the job.

Tada. It's aiiight. Would've liked the LEDs to be brighter and thought these were moving LEDs, but it's static. Also, wire shows as the sills are flat and do not curve up on the side - should be near invisible with dark vehicles but stands out on my white. Still better than the stock.

I wish I was more confident with my hardwiring skills but I had the dealer do it while they were installing the puddle lights. But there are a lot of YouTube "How To" videos that show how to install these things.

You purchased convoy moving led door scuffs? They look the same as mine.
I thought these were moving LEDs based on a YouTube video that shows off what looks like Convoy door scuffs. But mine do not move and they are Convoy brand. So either they really aren't moving LEDs or if it's possible the wiring was reversed and therefore does not move (unlikely though).
