2018 GT2 End of lease, 24k miles … since the residual of $27k is way less than the current market value, I want to buy. Leased in Missouri but since I’ve moved to FL. Visiting all the FL Kia dealerships to buy they are giving me quotes in the 30k range that don’t make sense. Sounds like they are adding fees to make money. Called my original MO dealer and got a quote close to the residual, but they are trying to force a $2,500 CNA Preferred Care + extended warranty. The overnighted the paper work. When I called and said I didn’t want the warranty, they are making it very difficult.
Claim the car price goes up w/o the warranty. Claim I can just buy the warranty and cancel later to get refunded the prorated portion. My leases ends in Jan 2022, but saying I need to hurry or the buy out increases ???? Lots of other high pressure tactics.
Thoughts of how to proceed are welcomed!

Sounds like a lot of BS to make a few extra $$. Just get a current payoff from Kia, then buy it out yourself now, don't wait until lease end. Use your own bank or credit union.

Yep. Look at kmfusa.com and follow the buyout quote instructions. Make sure you fill out the mileage disclosure statement and fax it in. I just paid the buyout on mine. Make sure you call KMF within 2 weeks and make sure the buyout check has been applied and that they received your mileage disclosure statement. I just got off the phone a couple hours ago with one of the customer service reps and they had received the statement but for some reason it didn’t have my signature show up. The rep was nice enough to stay on the phone while I sent it in again.

I tried to go in to the dealership I first got my car from and they were about to screw me over with all sorts of fees. I walked out.

My lease expires in november for a 2019 GTS. Residual value is $25k. When I go on the Kia site it says they cannot provide a buyout value and I must go to a dealership. Plan on talking to the money guy at the dealership when I take the car in for annual state inspections in October. Hope I have better luck

Certain states require you to go to the dealership for some stupid reason. Florida is one of them.
