With the recent release of the Tribute Edition, it had me thinking about the trim pieces on the Stinger. They don't fully match on their "special" editions
2018-19 Stingers were silver on 2.0T and all GT and GT-Line are dark chrome (other than hood front air intake/side curtain and hood and rear fender "vents" which are gloss black). Almost all of it matches and makes sense.

The 2019 Stinger GTS replaces the dark chrome with carbon fiber, but not on the lower grill or window trim.
2022 Scorpion and 2023 Touring get dark chrome on upper and lower grill, and window trim, but gloss black on mirrors, side vents (and wheels and exhaust).
Then the Tribute has dark chrome everywhere the GT does, except the mirrors are black (and wheels).

To me they should have had gloss black (or carbon fiber) EVERYWHERE as an option like many other manufacturers do (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, Alfa, Etc). It would have looked better and more cohesive, like the all silver and all dark chrome stingers do.

Just a pointless thought since Stinger production done.

but they will roll around for years yet.

the premium and base 2.0l have 'silver' trim on the upper grille but gloss black below. since the bright trim is reproduced as window trim and on the door handles, and there is that nice little flash of it in the fake hood vents it all ties together. the gloss black lower grille ties to the many other gloss black accents. I wondered too why the gts got 'carbon fiber' in the upper grille, seemed a little pointless. but none of these trim changes clash on any of the trims that sport them. the subtle differences work but they also might bug some people. you brought it up, so yeah the subject is an interesting study in driver psychology I guess. I've said before that if I ever ditch the dark chrome window trim it will be to go gloss black since there is plenty of that already to tie together. I like the dark chrome appearance wise I just worry about spotting and smudges, especially on the window trim pieces it's a constant chore to keep the pieces looking immaculate. the bright window pieces on the premium never require that kind of attention and clean up without any work.

I've said this from the jump. If you gonna do a "black package" then do it right. Fully gloss black on all the trim pieces on the exterior of the scorpion and grand tourer models. Full carbon fiber on the gts. Seems like an easy enough call to make no?

Totally agree. Seems like a lot of the “Special Edition” Stingers were half baked in their execution. Shows how it became less and less a priority in the lineup. Full blacked out trim would have looked great from the factory.

Scorpion should have had 400hp/400tq. That is something that would actually be "special" a power increase.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
