KIAs and Hyundai's stolen in Milwaukee

What is this "flaw in the ignition system" that they are talking about?

The only theft protection of keyless entry/start up that I am aware of is a faraday bag/box, or wrap the fob in foil, to block reading the key with a scanner app.

A ton of the Dodges and Jeeps with push button start were being stolen with a laptop that didn't need the key to be in range.

AFAIK, all the Stingers come standard with an engine immobilizer and shouldn't be on the list of Kias that are easily started and driven away.

Time for one of these?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I just spent the day in Milwaukee and surrounding area for work, and my Stinger didn't get stolen or carjacked. Perhaps the thieves don't know it's a Kia... :p

There's tiktok video out there showing how its done. Pop the plastics over the column and a usb cable fits perfectly over the tumbler. Pretty sure our cars aren't susceptible because push button and immobilizer.

We need the thieves to be smart enough to know this about our cars to not target them, but they're dumb enough to rely on being criminals...
