Do Kia Stinger (all models) have a timing chain or timing belt?

All Hyundai/Kia Lambda V6s use timing chains.

Thanks. How about the 2.0T or the 2.5T?

Reading is not my strong suit. The 2.0T Theta II is also timing chain, and I'm going to *assume* the SmartStream 2.5 is as well. As far as I know, Hyundai/Kia does not make a gasoline engine with a timing belt at the moment.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Sorry to revive this old topic but does anyone know if the timing chain should ever be replaced on the Stinger (2.0/3.3)?
I've not seen anything about it in the manual.

Typically belts require replacement but chains do not. So that's probabyl why they dont even bother mentioning it in the manual.

I imagine by the time a chain needs replacement, so will the rest of the engine.

A chain that needs replaced is determined when you can no longer set cam timing within spec due to excessive stretch. The tensioner could then max out as well allowing all sorts of slop leading to noise and possibly failure. A chain could/should last the life of an engine.

I’ve never done timing on a VVTI cam, I wonder if it’s even necessary and simply self correcting.
