Hi, I have had my car on the diagnostics after the EML came on. Its the reductant injection valve that stuck shut. I can not find anywhere that sells this part. Just wondered if anybody would know of specialist. Ive tried Kia main dealer and no joy. Thanks

Uhm well you are the only continent that got diesel stingers I think.......actually Europe did also didn't they?

I cannot believe a Kia dealer cannot supply you a genuine Kia Stinger part even if it is a diesel.

But is this one of these AdBlue add ons when I google what you are looking for it comes up with a purge valve.

After market?

I believe the Genesis twin (G70) also had a diesel version, have you tried looking for the part for that model?

Maybe you need to ask Kia for a DEF Injector.....

A diesel reductant valve, more commonly known as a DEF injector, is a component in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system of modern diesel engines that injects a liquid reductant, or Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), into the exhaust stream. This injection is precisely timed and metered by the engine's control module to convert harmful nitrogen oxides (

) into harmless nitrogen (

N2cap N sub 2
) and water vapor (

H2Ocap H sub 2 cap O
) before they are released into the atmosphere.

How it works
  • Emissions reduction:
    Diesel engines produce

emissions from the combustion of fuel.

  • DEF injection:
The reductant valve or injector precisely sprays a metered amount of DEF (such as AdBlue) into the hot exhaust.

  • Conversion process:
The heat of the exhaust gas decomposes the DEF into ammonia, which then reacts with the

    in the SCR catalyst.

  • Harmful to harmless:
    This reaction converts the harmful

    NOxcap N cap O sub x
into nonpolluting nitrogen and water vapor.

Importance
  • Meets emissions standards:
The SCR system with the reductant valve is crucial for modern diesel engines to meet strict emissions regulations.

  • Maintains performance:
Proper operation of the reductant valve is essential for the efficiency of the entire SCR system and can help prevent the engine from entering a "limp mode" or triggering diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

  • Contributes to a cleaner environment:
    By converting

    NOxcap N cap O sub x
into less harmful gases, it significantly reduces pollution
