I took my Stinger in for it's first oil change with the recommendation from these forums to have the dealer do the first one. I have a GT2 Chroma Red with 3500 miles on it. When the car was returned to me there was a large Z scratched to the plastic on the driver door handle. Later a friend of mine noticed that they lifted the car wrong and the side skirts on both sides of the car are crumpled, driver side is actually has a crack in it about 4" long. They did not use the factory lifting points and did not use blocks to space the lift away from the side skirts. To say I am unhappy is like saying Trump is not a real great president. I take it in tomorrow to see what they are going to do for me, so far they have denied the door handle. I had a KIA Optima before this and they lifted it wrong as well, I called them out on it and nothing changed. The radius on the optima is much larger so it never bent the side skirts past permanent deformation.

Before taking your vehicle anywhere, take photos of all sides of it, under it, on top of it. Take a video if you can. I had taken several photos of my car the day before this happened and this was the first time the car was on a lift so they have no argument, they did it and they have to take care of it. I will be doing my own oil changes from here on out. They will never touch my car again after they fix it. I will update how they handle the next part of this saga. Worst experience ever.

Sadly, as a former service manager, I can tell you what probably happened. The best mechanics, and probably the Stinger-trained mechanics, are used for more technical work. Many dealerships use lower-paid newbies to do the "grunt" work of changing oil and changing wiper blades, etc. You probably got hosed by a new kid on the rack who hasn't a clue about the differences between a Chevy pickup and a Kia Stinger. Find another dealer somewhere and let them know ahead of time what happened and that you are watching them and your car.

Hey there @Andrew Simons,
OMG, reading the experience you and your Stinger have gone through, with this dealer, was like watching a truly scary horror movie, it is 1.00am here right now in Melbourne, Australia but during the day today, i am going to check my Stinger also, should my dealer lifted it up. Hope your able to make them repair the damage they did to your Stinger, i am truly shocked they did that and are trying to get away with it.

It sounds like the GM is going to make this right. I am going to suggest his shop guys get some training on how to lift a car without ruining it. I still won't ever go to them for service again but maybe I can help them not screw up other people's vehicles.

I took the car in Friday and they looked at it and agreed the service tech had lifted it wrong. Neither of us can prove they did or didn't do the damage to the door handle but they are going to fix that as well. Car should be like new again when they are done. The GM was very professional about it and at least so far they have handled it exactly how they should. I'll post an update after the work is done.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Just a quick update, they have the car now and are fixing everything at their cost. I'd change the experience to good for buying a car, not so great for getting an oil change but good that they will make things right when they make a mistake.
