Stinger is dead though. Nobody bought our cars as it is. I have a a feeling that IF they did bring back our cars, they'd be turned into a small crossover type SUV ev, which would kill it for me. I don't want an SUV. We already have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, don't need anything that size or bigger.I'll believe it when I see it. 600hp and 500 mile range is interesting, but if it turns out to be 300hp and <300 miles for everything but the 80k trim, meh.
Meanwhile give us a facelifted Stinger with the 3.5TT (or a V8TT!), launch new models of the Telluride/Palisade that are RWD-based AWD with the TT engine, and ditto for the Genesis models. Let that be Kia/Hyundai's EcoBoost that they build all the upscale/sporty models around.
I agree. Hybrids are the way for the foreseeable future. And maybe well start seeing some good combinations of fuel economy and performance if r&d continues. The way EV sales have been tanking, I don't doubt Kia is having second thoughts about this one - and their entire corporate EV game plan. Genesis has already walked back from their lofty all-EV ambitions, scrambling to introduce hybrid versions instead, like every other major auto maker that bought into this EV hype.
EVs have their place in the automotive landscape. What the automakers are waking up to is the fact that after the early adopters have already bought theirs, converting the rest of the car buying public isn't quite as easy.
EV sales are not tanking, overall they went up. Production just has gone up, probably over demand, as demand slowed down a little as overall car market, but demand was much higher than production till now.The way EV sales have been tanking, I don't doubt Kia is having second thoughts about this one - and their entire corporate EV game plan. Tell that to the car mfrs that are all frantically switching from EVs to hybrids. Even just a couple of yrs ago, Genesis was boldly proclaiming no more ICE new models by 2025 and EV-only soon after. They've since back-peddled from that. Musk had to cut prices to keep his sales numbers from falling any worse. Those prices cuts then caused EV resale values to crater. That made prospective EV buyers even more hesitant to switch to EVs. It's a vicious feedback cycle.EV sales are not tanking, overall they went up. I think the ICE cars are plugin hybrids. Im also not a fan really. I hope we get the typical hybrids weve seen for a long time now. I dont want anything that needs to be plugged in.Tell that to the car mfrs that are all frantically switching from EVs to hybrids. Meanwhile, Akio Toyota is waggling his finger and smirking a good "I told you so..."
Yeah, there will still be those EV diehard proponents that will buy them regardless of the market. The general motoring public is proving far more apprehensive about taking the plunge. For good reasons.
Yes. I would prefer mild hybrids that boost mpg without adding a ton of weight. It can also add a bit of off-the-line performance boost.I think the ICE cars are plugin hybrids.
