JUST AN EXPLANATION OF THE ICONS ON THE LCD DISPLAY

I have looked, and looked, through the 563 page book and all i want is an explanation of all the little symbols/icons that come up. e.g a legend with the icon and beside it, what it means. For example, what does the little green steering wheel mean??? only had the car 2weeks

I don't have an Aussie copy, but In the US version of the 2020 Stinger owners manual, a list of the warnings and indicators starts on page 4-92. Strangely enough it doesn't cover the LKA icon (the one you're describing). 5-116 does explain it though (without a picture).

Hi Kerri; the little green steering wheel is Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and activated when you are driving faster than 60K/h.

Howdy. This is a greeting and welcome, not informational. I can concur, however, that the owners manual is a frustratingly vague, redundant and incomplete read.

The (LKA) symnbol is the car in the lane between the lines., the green/whte steering wheel cannot mean the same thing.

I have no idea either. I just turn the Lane keeping control 'OFF' when I start the car? Had my Stinger GT now for almost 2 months and still not sure about the Steering wheel symbol and the LKA... functions with assorted col,ours.

My owner's manual identifies the green steering wheel icon as Lane Following Assist (page 5-160).



The manual says:
Lane Following Assist is designed to detect lane markings or vehicles on the road, and assists the driver's steering to help keep the vehicle between lanes.

Strange? As soon as I start the vehicle that icon comes ON. I have to turn it OFF if I don't want to use that function.

Kerri, I know exactly how you feel. I contacted the dealer and I'm still none the wiser?

IIRC there was an option in the vehicle settings to turn that off for my MY 22. It only comes on if I press the button (rarely). It's somewhat useful on longer hwy trips, but locally, roads are so bad that im usually all over the place trying to avoid them.

Mine is a MY22. Where in the vehicle settings did you find the turn OFF option? Cheers

This is a lane keep assist that works on any speed but the thing about it is that both lanes on the side of your car need to be white. And the steering wheel will move itself to the center of those lanes. Yes you can let go of the steering wheel (when both the car lane turn green and the green steering wheel appear) but only for a few second then it tells you another things about something being disabled. That’s why u may feel a small nudge sometimes on your car because of that lane assist

It is lane following/centering. Unlike lane assist which is ON until you turn it off, Lane Centering must be set each time. The warning is it "disconnects" the lane following if it detects that you are stupid enough to let go of the steering wheel.
The electric steering assist that knocks you back into the lane should you try and drive along the footpath only works above 60kmh.
