Long time lurker, first time poster. About a year ago, I decided that the Stinger GT was my top choice and I have been waiting for the right time to start shopping.

Here's the first quote I received. Any thoughts?

quote.webpAlso - Has anyone had much luck pushing back on dealer installed options (this quote has floor mats/$199, "VIP Dent/Ding Shield"/$299, "Smart Shield/$899, Tint/$699, Maintenance/$699, "VTR"/$299 - all totaling $3,094. The only item they want to budge on is the maintenance since this particular dealership is on the other side of town and I won't be going there for maintenance.

$699 for tint??o_O I purchased my car brand new and the only thing that was thrown at me was maintenance. Mind you maintenance includes tire rotation that you cannot perform with staggered wheels so I would definitely decline it.

Remove all the dealer crap.

Horne KIA likes to stack on very overpriced dealer add ons.
Also FYI, they are likely going to give you a horrifically lowball offer for your trade.
I bought my car from them. They only took off one or two of the add-ons but I worked them down pretty hard on price and got more $$ for trade-in then I orginally hoped (in spite of their crap original offer.
In the end I got the final price (before downpayment and trade-in) for car+add-ons+taxes+regesttration+fees for a few hundred less than original MSRP.
Between trade-in and down payment I brought 10k to the table so I only financed 36,500 for my GT1.

A trick I used as well, bring in your own pre-approved financing for the amount you want to finance, force them to work down to that amount on the bank check.

Never pay for gap insurance from dealer PERIOD. You can get that through your insurance for like $5-8 more per month at the most.
Any dealer that says that you have to get it through the dealership is flat out lying.

Howdy and welcome into the open. Looks like you're already being well taken care of here. :D (I am constantly amazed at the overpriced addons dealers try for.)

Some other advice:

I would avoid black if you live in southern arizona. With the amount of dust we have, it will be constantly dirty, and every micro-scratch shows very easily on dark cars (at least without a top notch ceramic coating). Not to mention the heat aspect.
My previous car was black, and so happy to not have those problems.

So they’re selling the car at “invoice” and adding back a bunch of dealer options.. seems high for a GT IMO

Here is CA, taxes are already high. I got my GT at 37k otd even.

kinda high... dealer gave us tint free, awd gt indigo edition which adds several of the gt1 items like the hk sound, sunroof, etc along with d-awd, after tax under 40k.. pre tax was around 37 otd.

Keep in mind guys, prices have changed between now and 1+ years ago.

Looks like median for a 2021 GT is around 40,600 - 41,200.
Even then though, local demand changes things.

I had a line on an AWD Indigo where they wanted $38,600 new, but it also had auto start, puddle lights so seemed fair but more than I wanted to spend. $37 flat was the right price for me

yea, ours came with the puddle lights, floormats, cargo mat, mud guards, auto dimming mirrors and homelink. Love the orange and was looking at a used one as well.. but I am a sucker for dark blue :D

I just had xpel prime put on the whole car + a 5 inch brown for $471 after tax. Tell them to shove it and you don't want it

I think the dealer options are a joke. Looking that VIN up on Kia shows MSRP $41610 which includes cargo mat, carpeted floor mats and paint protection package. I wouldn’t pay for anything additional unless I asked for it.

Thanks for all of the input so far. I appreciate it. I told them I'm not interested - at least at that price. We'll see what they come back with.
