My friend was getting into the front passenger seat tonight and when she pulled to shut the door, the handle snapped off where it mounts to the door. You can't tell it's broken as is, but when you pull on that handle, it is clearly broken. Will warranty cover this? It's a 2021 with about 35000 miles. Thanks!

This is a known Kia issue on the stinger. I think they used to replace the whole panel.

when i bought mine (CPO, 2022) from the dealer, both front handles were already broken. they volunteered this up front and it was written into the sales contract to fix them and the replace the front windshield (small crack in the corner). took a little over 3 months for parts to arrive until i could bring it back and have them do the work (not sure if it was the glass or the door handle parts that took so long), so i'd get it in to the dealer ASAP in case the parts are still taking a long time to receive ...

I appreciate the input. I found a thread that mentioned the 2022's had a recall of sorts, but nothing was said of 2021's or older models. I hope warranty covers the other model years.

embarrassing having a bog standard part like a door handle fail like that on a stinger. most anyone will say, 'still just a kia'. hope they cover it let us know please how it goes.

My 19' just broke after 3 1/2 years. Clean break. Used instant contact liquid superglue. 6 months and still good.

Went into the dealer this morning and they said I needed to make an appointment and then they can examine the issues to see if they are covered by warranty (I also have condensation behind my headlights I want them to check on and the chrome above the side windows is all messed up). If the stuff isn't covered, I'll have to pay an $85 diagnostic fee. A bit of a disappointment but I'll take the car in a out 10 days from now.

My dealer will replace the whole door panel under warranty. They did mention the notification (recall?) for the newer Stingers, but confirmed that it does not cover my 2021 Stinger. Glad the warranty covers this. The dealer also noticed my faded black chrome trim by my windows and will be replacing those under warranty too. I'm just waiting for the parts to arrive and then will go back to the dealer.

For sure! And this isn't even the dealer I bought my Stinger from. I might have to chat with their sales department and see if they have a Tribute Stinger coming...I may be interested in trading in my 2022. In any event, I am scheduled for the 6th of next month.

Got my Stinger back from the dealership yesterday. Everything is in good order. The door panel looks great and the tech cleaned up after himself! There were no prints or smears or smudges anywhere on the inside. The chrome garnish outside above the windows looks great, too. Warranty covered everything.
