Hello all! I just recently got my bill for my insurance and it increased over 30% from $521 every 6 months to $707 every 6 months. I have not made any claims and I have had no new tickets or violations on my record. I insure through progressive. I have never seen such a jump for no reason. I double checked and it seems I am still getting the same discounts. Anyone else notice an increase this past year?

Other relevant info, my stinger is the 2019 GT2, I am currently in North Dakota, I am 23 year old male, I have one speeding ticket from 2019, I have full coverage 100k,300k,100k.

Call and ask them what happened to 8.5% annual inflation rate?

Get quotes elsewhere... I'm with geico. If you're a costco member you can get car insurance through them.

For comparison, I'm 47 living in Las Vegas with a clean license paying slightly more than your new rate. It's all about demographics, so it's possible something is triggering a rate increase for your zip code.

Shop around as JSolo suggested. Changing insurance providers is as easy as it's ever been, and most have fairly accurate online quotes.

I routinely (like every year) get quotes from other major insurance companies (you know, switch and save $xxx), and they always come back several hundred MORE than Geico that I currently have and had have for 10 years.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

When I bought my Stinger, my insurance premiums nearly doubled. I had Progressive for 8 years and never had any issues with them. I tried to get a lower quote through them but ended up jumping ship to Geico (Progressive was quoting me over $200/month).

But my insurance is still pretty high; I pay about $150 every month (whereas my prior Accord was about $110/month). I have no tickets, no accidents, good credit, whatever other discounts you may have. But not sure why you would have such a significant jump.

The Stinger is just an expensive car to insure - It makes all the "naughty" lists
The Stinger is the #2 car model most likely to be in an accident in 2021 (Car Models With the Most Accidents in 2021) and it was #3 on the list of cars most likely to have speeding tickets (Car Models with the Most Speeding Tickets (2021)).

^^Could be your age/zipcode. I too was paying less for the accord ('15), ~$125 or $150/6months less.

Will be almost a year with the stinger in a little over a month, no tickets/claims. I've become very defensive, always keeping a large following distance, just in case.

I have checked with a couple other companies and the next lowest was nationwide at 1065 every 6 months. So I guess I'm sticking with progressive at $707. I am still going in to a branch office to raise some questions. 35% increase seems too much of a jump with no significant changes.

Incase anyone was wondering the 3rd cheapest was State Auto at $1986 every 6 months. Yikes. I do not understand how these companies can say they are competitive when there is such a difference in prices between them.

Insurance is all about your driving record, age, location, and martial status. I am married, have a clean record, live in Iowa, am old and I pay $387 every six months for full coverage. I own a 2019 GT AWD. Also, some insurance companies take your credit score into account when setting your cost. Last time I took out a loan, they told me my credit score was 840.
