I saw a couple other posts of people being unable to locate this part so they've made due with modified parts from other similar cars. Why is this part not available or is it available aftermarket somewhere?

20 Stinger AWD

Today I was turning around in a parking lot, had the sun in my eyes and wasn't being careful enough and managed to hit a curb while the wheel was cranked most of the way over. Immediately notice that my alignment is off. Well f*ck. Took it to a place. They said the outer end looks okay, but when twist the assembly, it lifts up like it's bent somewhere back in the boot by the steering box. I can't find the part online and just find the mentioned posts and the dealership parts guy said I'll have to have the whole steering assembly replaced because that part isn't replaceable. Wtf. So $3K to fix an alignment issue?

Somebody help me out here. Am I really this f&*%ed? Do I need to now get a hold of my insurance or try the jury rigged way myself?

Thanks all.

Black and white comparison in parts but insurance covered (minus deductible) my wiring harness when i had to get it replaced. Damn rat got me a week in to ownership. Anyway it doesn't hurt to ask your company about it. Might be able to source a used one too

Yeah, I may do that. I'm debating that (my concern is deductible plus premium increasing) or doing the thing somebody else did on this forum a year ago. They got a generic inner tie rod from O'Reilly, cut it down to length, used a die to increase the thread length down the remaining rod, and swapped it in. Apparently worked great. I truly don't understand why Kia doesn't sell the part if it is in fact replaceable like every other car.

My premium didn't change. So I guess it all depends on claims and how much coverage you have. I can't say to yours and how it may work obviously. I does however not hurt to ask. And for what its worth i had an accident which totaled my previous car ( so a claim) and 2 months later is when i filed for the harness. But i have a serious coverage policy (by choice) due to where i live and added coverage for my mods.

IMO the added plus to an OEM part is if somethig happens that is not your fault down the line Kia cant come back at you with "whats this?" and dodge a warranty claim. Just my thoughts.
I hope it works out for you
