How does AWD put power to the front wheels?

Hi Everyone,
Just picked up a 2022 GT2 AWD and it's my first AWD vehicle. I was just curious - since the engine is not transverse mounted, how does power get to the front wheels? I know that power goes to the transmission and out the back, but how does the power get back up to the front?

There is a transfer case between the transmission and the driveshaft that has the appropriate clutches/etc to distribute the power forward as needed. Almost the same system as BMW's xDrive.

according to the parts diagram.. it appears to be a gear style.. which makes sense since Magna also produces the awd system for bmw's actimax which is similar in style.

Thanks. Gear is much preferred to chain (if such a thing exists) for longevity.

I was just under my car when putting the MBRP exhaust on, pretty sight seeing how nicely they nestled the front driveshaft in.
