How can I tell if my Stinger is a GT1?

Hello, I just purchased a 2018 Kia Stinger GT. The dealer told me it was the GT1 package. However now I’m having doubts and I think it may just be the GT. I don’t see anything in the paperwork saying it’s a GT1 package. I can’t find clear indicators proving mine is a GT1.

I read that the GT1 has the Harman Kardon sound system. Do all gt1’s have this? Mine does not. I also seen that GT1 have a sunroof. Mine does not.

Can anyone tell me the for sure options that all gt1’s have regardless of optional choices? Thank you.

Gt trim doesn't have sunroof. So yours is GT one.

As long as you're SURE that you have a 3.3L six cylinder engine, you have a GT. (I do not jest with you: not along ago, a gal came on here insisting that her Stinger had the six cylinder engine, but when we asked her to pop the hood and take a pic, she got rude and disappeared. That was the second case in the forum that I know of, of someone being sold a "GT" when it was the four cylinder engine instead.)

Yeah it is the 3.3 liter haha. It has the dual intakes. Here’s a picture of my engine.

I think it is the base GT because I have no moonroof or sunroof at all.

Look up your vehicle sticker.

https://www.kia.com/us/services/us/windowsticker/load/{VIN}

Where {VIN} is the VIN code (without brackets).

example

Vin: KNAE45LC3N6119496
So link: https://www.kia.com/us/services/us/windowsticker/load/KNAE45LC3N6119496

Edit: I just noticed this dealership is charging above msrp, at least according to the price on the website so buyer beware. Not affiliated with them in any way. They just happen to have a gt1 available.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Well try to look on the bright side, at least you got the 3.3 Motor, which is really the most important. You also won't have to worry about the sun roof rattling. Dealers are so sleazy in general. When buying a house and signing the docs, I admit I don't pay as much attention. I used to own a mortgage company and never heard of any f ups on pricing. Car dealerships seem to have that problem all the time so you really gotta check them.

I think it’s also safe to assume the GT is bit lighter than the GT1

I think that's part of a challenge of buying a used vehicle. Sometimes specs are not very clear and/or no longer (easily) available. Relying on the salesperson is a lost cause.

Fortunately kia/hyundai and some other brands make vehicle stickers easily available.

GT RWD is c. 300 lbs. lighter. I've never seen a hard number on the sunroof compared to solid steel GT roof.

Yeah it is a little bit shady haha.

Luckily I didn’t go in wanting a gt1 or gt2 specifically. I just wanted the 3.3 engine which I knew I had before signing, I looked up pictures of it and triple verified with them and the carfax. I just remember asking them what trim it was and they said gt1 so I was just verifying.

And yeah, that is a good point about the weight reduction of not having a sunroof lol.
