Hey all, my horn suddenly stopped working today. My guess is it’s just a blown fuse which should be pretty easy to replace myself. I’m wondering if anyone has had this issue/if there is anything I should know before trying to put a new fuse in myself?

What year is yours? The fuse is in the engine bay fuse panel and is 20A IIRC. Checked mine and its fine, but, my passenger side horn is definitely not working. My car goes to the dealer Wednesday morning where I'm sure they will confirm the horn doesn't work then tell me it will be several months before they can get a new one.

Interesting. Did you check the fuse for the burglar alarm horn as well? I have a 2022 GT1. I’m definitely going to swap it myself if it is just a fuse issue. Not waiting around months for a dealer to do a 5 min fix

I did not check the burglar alarm fuse. I did swap a new 20a fuse in for the horn fuse and it still didn’t work. Based on others having the same issue and mine fluctuating in tone before crapping out, I’m pretty confident it needs replaced altogether.

Jeez well that’s a huge bummer. I hope mine is as simple as a fuse. Any idea if your issue is covered by warranty?

Update:

Back from the dealer. Diagnosed low pitch horn (pass. side) as failed. My advisor said the part will be in tomorrow morning and I’m planning on taking it back in when she calls.

What’s interesting is it appears they didn’t remove the bumper to diagnose. I did get 3 warnings, 3 minutes apart from the Kia Access app that my engine was running. So I’m thinking they start the car and hook it up to a scanner to diagnose. Either way, I’m glad they didn’t have to remove the bumper.

Horn was replaced today in about 40 minutes. Looks like they got all the pop clips and bolts back in where they should go so I’m good. Back to normal.

Good! I’m going to have to bring mine in because the fuse is fine…

Meant to ask, was this covered under warranty?
100% covered under warranty. I’ll post my work order later but IIRC, they found an internal short in the high pitch horn (not low pitch like I previously posted).

Awesome thanks mate. That’s a huge help.
