• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

hI, as per title, im interested in to buy one of these, but would like to look one over to see if it is fit for my puropse. I live in Bexley kent, so wondered if any owners nearby would be able to let me have a mooch round one locally? If not, no worries I will go to Maidstone where there is one for sale. just thought Id ask...
Cheers

Good luck in your search for your Stinger. I bought mine sight unseen about two weeks ago.

Never had driven one so everything I knew was based on YouTube reviews and lots of research.

I am in love with my purchase as it is even better than I had hoped for. :)

Go and shop the dealers. You have different cars also. A lot of Stingers are Diesels in the UK and performance wise they could be totally different. I doubt that anyone is going to let you drive their car or waste their time so you can come have a look when it is not for sale. It's pretty creepy actually.

Just wanted to say - welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. What might the Stinger be replacing for you?

There are Stingers with a diesel engine? That's the first time I've heard that.

My nearest dealer with one available is an hour and a half away. I have lot of experience on forums and forum members usually are proud of their cars and happy to show them off. I merely wantedto see the proportions in the flesh, to see if car woukd meet my needs size wise.., and there is no better way ro get a feel of a car than to speak to owners. As for that being creepy, words fail me. Maybe suspect, I.e I might be looking to steal someone’s car, but creepy?!

Thank you for the welcome! I currently have a fairly rare car, a jaguar xfr-s sportbrake…

Fellow Brit owner here, we're a bit of a rare breed on this forum but I've learnt a lot about the car from from reading up on here.

I love my Stinger, it ticks all the boxes for me and as long as your not a badge snob I can't see what more your could want from it. Just be prepared for been asked 'what car's that then mate?' at least once a week.

Hello, good to know!

Definitely not a badge snob. Just like interesting cars (/and bikes) . Talking of that, the car I looked at a Kia dealer had a badge that looked like an E at the front, but the rear the usual Kia badge. Do you know what that’s about? Salesman had no clue. I haven’t done all the research yet on the car, tbh I’m too busy already without also trying to sell the jag. It’s going on Collecting Cars soon

The "E" is an aftermarket rebadge popular with many Stinger owners. "E" is supposed to stand for "engineered by excellence". The Stinger in S. Korea sported the E badge. Ima just surprised that the KIA badge was unchanged in the rear. I've never heard of anyone only changing the front to the "E". In fact, it is more common to go "all E", and do the wheel caps and the steering wheel too.

A stock Stinger 3.3 won't be as quick as your Jag.

Thanks for that, so it appears even amongst Kia’s there are badge snobs lol!

Yes, there are the same excuses for not wanting to drive a KIA and be seen. Hah. The most often used excuse is enjoying seeing people try and guess what car it is. Nobody but car guys know what a Stinger is, a KIA, without the badges telling them.

Well, I like the idea of surprising people, as it would…
