Heater confusion

Hot air rises; you get cold at your extremities first; the automatic climate system knows what it's about. Adapt to being warm other ways than insisting on blasting hot air in your face (you melting snowflakes, heh).
Turns out, hands and arms are also extremities and the car kind of says "F-you, I'm only going to heat your toes!" on auto. The heated steering wheel is nice, but it's no where near the heat output of vents.

^^Before all this tech, driving in the winter involved, gloves, hats, coats :) I remember having thermostat issues (stuck partially open). Not going to change a stat out in the middle of winter. Use the card board over grill trick. Worked great.

Can you clarify?

When the engine is idling, and there is "no heat" - is the engine warm (at operating temperature)
When you say "starting the car with UVO does work" - what doesn't work about it? Is there an error message?

much confusion!
Well I have my winter settings for UVO Connect on my phone as follows: Run for the max time of 10 min! Heat up to 32 degrees C. Defrost of windshield on & rear window defrost on & heat steering wheel. Depending on how cold it is outside is whether I restart the car 2 or 3x. BUT, I do this & the back window is defrosted, the steering wheel is hot, but the windshield isn't thawed, or warm & the car is still cold! This is even after I had the car running for 30 min!

I'm not blasting heat to my face. I only run the heat thru my windshield vents! It's blowing cold air. Not A/C cold, but it's like air cold. I get in the car after 10-30 mins. The engine temp is normal, but the air coming out of the windshield vents is still cold. The windshield still has snow/frost on it. Once I start driving the heat starts coming out of the windshield vents. If I idle, or park somewhere. The air is cold again. Unless I put the car in neutral, & pull on the e-brake, then warm air comes out again.

I've noticed the same thing - which is definitely a problem when you're stuck in traffic and watching your windshield ice up.
I've tried every setting I think of but no bueno, the air from the vents just seems to cool off the longer you sit.

The only thing I can think of is having the dealer bleed the coolant system, maybe there's air stuck in the heater core.
I'd think the same thing, but it doesn't make any sense that the heat comes one once I put the car in neutral & pull on the e-brake. It's probably as someone else said about the auto settings, but if that's the case. I thought UVO Connect would go by the settings that I set it for. No?

Agreed, I think I figured it out though:

From the Climate Menu in car:

Climate>Climate Settings>Auto Recirculate>OFF

Seems to work for me, air stays hot.

I will look into that. Thx I did look into that & IT WORKED! It was the auto smart ventilation that was turned on. I turned that off & constant heat. Cheers!
