Hearing a whirring noise when not braking, dirt in brake pads, alignment, or other?

Hey all,

I've got a 2019 GT1 AWD. I've noticed recently when mostly coasting (no braking), I hear a whir-sound, metallic harmonic ringing like noise. I am not a car expert, so I can't pinpoint all sounds, and I chalk it up to additional noise with the hatchback vs trunk design muffling noise more. Still, if it is indicative of an issue. It could be dirt in the rotors, but when I've heard that on other cars it is more of a squeal. This is much more of a hum. I'm wondering if it alignment? There is some vibration in the steering wheel on new asphalt, but that could just be the road. I've attuned myself to hearing it, and I can be sensitive to sound, but I did not hear it when new so it raised some concern.

This car has made me ultra sensitive to noises. Ironic, since it's also the quietest vehicle, by far, of any I've owned. Every little change in road surface changes the sound reaching the cabin through the tires. Mostly okay, but sometimes over the top whiny (usually concrete); it's then that I shut off my music and wait it out. :P

Earlier on here, somebody complained about a similar thing and it ended up being a pebble caught in the caliper and rubbing on the rotor. Something like that might be going on with yours.

Bumping this up - has this ever been figured out? I have been hearing the same thing on my 2020 Stinger GT base for a while now, and its also kind of like someone blowing over a glass bottle. The more I looked into it the more I think I have sensitive hearing particular to the stinger cabin sound. Like you, I also did not hear the noise when I bought it new (at ~5k miles now). I noticed that the sound is amplified exponentially on bad roads (especially concrete), and I can hear it at times on concrete or old highways. Usually, my steering wheel vibrates with the noise I hear, however when I am on a newly-paved asphalt highway the noise basically disappears. Here are my posts with video examples of these sounds, and I am currently riding on the Michelin stock wheels:

After watching numerous Stinger binaural drive videos on youtube, I hear the similar sound on basically every one. But this still doesn't explain why I get a very loud vibrating noise at times, although they have been very scarce (and somewhat similar to this:
).

Am I crazy????

Also I can't find the pebble in caliper thread so not sure if that was relevant to this noise.

Well, inarguably, along with pretty much everyone else on here who has one of these. :D But, that said, I still do not hear these things that you hear, from the videos. In real life, you hear stuff, then get on a video and pull that into your listening experience watching the video; I think. (that was a fun ride because I've been on that piece of LA freeway a thousand times.)

So this thread pretty much goes over my issues: Thud sound

Especially the thunk/thud sound when going over sharp bumps or pavement irregularities, but it only happens on the front. Still could this noise just be the low-profile tires and bad NVH treatment on the Stinger?
