Wow its me again! I guess I'm just having too much fun with my Stinger lately. Lol

I wrote this in the "Stinger vs World", but wanted to keep this thread updated too.

So I just smoked a 5.0 Mustang!

Ok ok, before everyone gets too excited(or angry lol) it wasnt a new 2018 460HP 5.0 Stang... But it was a tuned 3rd generation 5.0, which is still no joke with a few bolt-on upgrades.

I was cruising home from work when an early 90s 5.0 cut in front of me. It had a big wide tires and a really mean exhaust note. I hesitated for a second because I wasnt sure if he had a 500HP+ monster under the hood, but I thought it would be fun either way and went for it.

I switched to Sport mode, dropped into 2nd gear and followed him as he made a right turn. I heard him get on the gas early so I punched it. I had TC off so the back end actually came loose for a split second, but quickly regained traction and then it just took off! I caught him by the end of 2nd, and almost had a car length on him by 60mph

I gave him a quick blink of my hazards and pulled into the left lane to make a u-turn at the light. He pulled up next to me and shouted "wow that things got some balls!", I smiled gave him a big thumbs up and jokingly said "not bad for a Kia" as I drove off.

I admit this made my day as I've lost to my fair share of "foxbody" 5.0 Stangs over the years. Great feeling knowing I can finally get my revenge!!!

Me again.

So I finally took a ride in my friends GT to feel what the JB4 actually feels like. We got lucky enough to have a Panamera chase us down and pull up next to us at a stoplight. My buddy switched it to map 2 and engaged launch control.

The light turned green and my boy had the jump, but our tires broke loose and the Porsche took a 1/4 car length. Then we hit 2nd and the car just took off! I thought my car was quick but the JB4 really puts our Stingers on another level. We immediately started gaining and by 50 we were head to head. We took a bumper lead before we came up on traffic and he shut it down.

I honestly don’t know if I’m more shocked we pulled on a 4S, or at how much stronger the Stinger felt with the chip! Both are extremely impressive and guess you can call that a win-win.

Yesterday afternoon was a match made in heaven....A panamera, me and an M3 all rolling along on a six lane divided city street....and here comes a stoplight....WOW all three of us are gonna have an Epic 0 to hero run.....everyones got the nod. im in the middle....and up rolls a police car in the perpendicular lane at the light ....game over... could have would have.....doggone it....no way....I wont see that again..... Wash

He probably looked over and went WOW and wished he had been one minute later!

Base gt with rwd some mods got corvette with launch control 2 cars off line. Had him to 110ish before he drove around me. It’s was about a quarter mile race same with a mustang got him by 2 or 3 off line got me at top end. But stang got me on 60 mph roll. I’m always out looking for fun but some people just don’t want to get Embarrassed By a Kia I guess

Stinger no way the m3 would have beat me ...I had the JB4 on map3 with 4 gals of e85 in the tank ....dagummit...im still bummed about the no race..... Wash

Ya this car is all off the line low end torque. But when you race eighth mile or stop light to couple 100 feet this car will take most cars on street

I've had my Stiner 8 days now (GT/AWD), and yes, have been challenged by stupid cars that have no shot. I don't even bother. I never bother... And what's with that WRX crowd? Sheesh dudes, you're all gonna get people killed.

I'm 48 and understand I'm hurtling through space at 75mph in 3,400lbs of steel and gas. It's dangerous and can kill people.

I couldn't care less about racing people. I know what my car can and cannot do. And so I feel no compulsion to need to race and validate what I've seen every YouTube video already show me what it beats and what it does not.

Do love the power and smart cruise control however. Great for those long HWY drives and passing and keeping me safe!

Agree and hate to say it too but the new M3s are 3.7sec 0-60 12.1 1/4m cars. It would still be a good race for a chip/tuned Stinger and lot would depend on RT.

Yeah our advantages are definitely up to 80-100mph. But at least there are a lot of videos showing a couple bolts-ons with a chip/tune can keep up with M3/M4/M5s, AMGs, S5/S7s etc. We just have to play to our advantages as much as we can and hope we get lucky when we can’t.

The second run is a 30 roll to high mph and he pulls on M4 the whole way. Stinger has a chip and bolt-ons, M4 has exhaust. Based on my first M3 post this M4 should easily be a 3.5 0-60 & 12.0 1/4m car so the Stingers top end just needs some help.

100% agree with safe driving and we did shut our run down before we got close to traffic.

However, I don’t understand spending extra money for a high performance 3.3TT and not take advantage of that when a fun, adrenaline pumping opportunities arises.

And YouTube videos are for people that don’t actually have a Stinger. Lol. If you didnt want to actually experience the 3.3TTs full performance yourself then why pay more for it?

Just saying our Stingers are an easy car to have a little friendly competition, and still be safe.

Well you see tork Motorsports he’s running high 11 second quarter mile at almost 120 mph.

He has the best tune out there so far. close to 500 hp at rear wheel.550 pounds of torque. With stock turbos.

There is a lot of power kia left on the table in this engine.all in for around 5 grand you to can have and 11 second kia.
