As the title says, has anybody gotten a ticket for the MBRP exhaust or does it fly enough under the radar?

I am running the MBRP exhaust because of the number of people on this forums that have described as more on the mild side of sound spectrum for the aftermarket options. I have found it to be pretty subtle after it calms down from a cold start but keeps the slightly more powerful sound that I was looking for.

I don't know what the laws are like in your area, but I can't see how it would ever be ticketed in relation to the other stuff I hear in TX.

No..and I’ve had plenty of cops riding my tail without incident

If you're driving like a hooligan, probably.

Used to have a 2 bros slipon exhaust on my last bike. This was without the silencer (a restrictor of sorts that went on the end cap to reduce noise). The bike could be heard upwards of half mile away with the engine screaming at 6Krpm+. Loud pipes save lives :) I always rode with earplugs in. Between the wind and exhaust noise, it was deafening. Never got pulled over for loud exhaust though. Leaving the neighborhood I keep the bike just barely over idle (2-3K). Always have situational awareness. Didn't scream the engine when cops were around.

Come to think of it, that was the only bike I never got tickets with.......

Idk what your local laws are but the MBRP doesn't come close to breaking any noise restrictions here as far as I know. It's not that loud, it's certainly louder than the stock exhaust but it's more about the sound it makes than the volume.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The law is basically if we think you made your car louder we can ticket you.

Apparently widening your muffler can also get you a ticket where I am.

I believe motorcycles are 96dB at 2000rpm (cars don't have a specific limit).

So basically my plan is situational awareness and just don't drive like a dick on residential areas (granted cops are rarely seen in residential areas here)

Guy from Canada asks if exhaust will get ticket.

bunch of Americans talk about their experience (with totally different regulations and laws)..

I'm running the mbrp here in Toronto. It's very subtle at normal driving speeds. I'd say it's equivalent sound to a stock m3, doubt you'll have any issues. Now if your banging gears close to rev limit in every gear, in the city, then ya maybe you'll have some issues lol.

To be honest, I can't really hear the exhaust at normal speed in normal mode from inside the car (my other car is louder). In sports mode it awakens a bit due to the higher revs. It sounds good and subtle when the wifey pulls off out of the driveway.

Motorcycles in Toronto are restricted to 92DB at idle. My bike exhausts are damn loud, decatted, and I've never been pulled over for noise, but I don't ride like a hooligan either

It's funny cuz here in MN, I'll be driving my Ford Lightning, which has a bassani/dynatech system which is extremely loud, much louder than the mbrp but sounds awesome. Cops have literally given me thumbs up for it. But if I had tint, they'd be all over me.

Yeah RCMP will hunt you down here if you have tint. Literally driving speed limit and just driving calmly. Got pulled over for tint and written a ticket.

Yeah seems like canadaland is a bit more strict. Got pulled over for no plates and no current registration when I passed a cop. He saw my carbon fiber hood and asked if that's the only aftermarket part. I said yeah absolutely. Meanwhile you can see my red aftermarket intakes through the hood vents. My radar detector was in plain view and my sway bars and chassis braces where in the trunk lol. Plus I had just installed my Borla exhaust and my cat less midpipes. He said understandable have a nice day and drive safe. No ticket or anything. Been pulled over a lot of times but not once for loud exhaust.

What a joke... and yet you have people getting mugged in parks and stores looted and they're busy writing tickets to law-abiding citizens... can't wait for my grandma and cousins to move out of Toronto.

Chicago tends to be strict about many things, more so than the rest of the state - many redlight and speed cameras. Folks living there pay for this privileged. So in Canada this is on a countrywide scale?

I don't think the OP is from Toronto. Here Toronto police patrol the city streets, Ontario provincial police (OPP) patrol the highways/freeways. RCMP do more high level crimes and busts here. They don't pull people over in their cars. In other parts of Canada though, they do.

Yep Western Canada. Also funny that you say that WRX. All my friends think America is what you described whereas Canada is not haha.

The cities in Western Canada tend to have more speed cameras and redlight cameras than actual officers pulling you over. Some places have rolling stop cameras.

Not sure about the rest of Canada though

Probably so. Before this COVID nonsense I would only go to Toronto once a year for about a week or so. :p
