halogen to led upgrade

just got a 2021 kia stinger gt-line and was surprised to find out it has halogens instead of leds

surprisingly can't find a video on anyone upgrading them

does anyone have a video of visuals of how to go about installing led's into the headlamps?

I did some research you can do further, visual as in pictures I didn't see any.

From what I can see ppl are having mixed opinions if the gt1 head light assembly is plug n play. Or has a different harness.

Led bulbs won't work well with the base model bc they are projectors n wouldn't offer the best visibility while also requiring heat sink of fan shrinking working space. They instead recommend hid bulbs. Morimoto?

Ppl said the way to switch them out is through the front wheel fender wall. Though check your owners manual and see if its even possible first.

Hope this helps, just search any morimoto thread or base model hid/led bulb replacement. And maybe you can dig deeper in the whole headlight replacement for gt1 and see if its plausible.

I just realized that the 2018-2019 Stinger 2.0T Premium editions had the LED headlights, but they're not an option on the 2020-2021 GT-Line models even though I got the Sun & Sound package, which is as Premium as the GT-Line can get. I've got some serious GT headlight envy.

Someone in another thread posted a headlight swap. Unfortunately it looks like it also requires a voltage regulator so it's not exactly plug-and-play.

using a voltage regulator or those cheap canbus decoders works. You only need to attach it to the low beam wire. It’s really easy and totally worth it

The $1200-$1500 per light assembly is somewhat prohibitive. I'd get some quality HiD's for the low beams and call it a day. If the high beams use a non projector the LED bulbs will be fine. And preferable for frequent switching.

I have a 2020 gt line an actually did mine yesterday an put some Leds it's easier if u take the front tires off its underneath wheel carriage or u can turn wheel one way buts it's easier with tires off .
