Hello all, I currently own a 2015 genesis 5.0 ultimate and will be transitioning into the buying phase of a gt2 very soon.

I was wondering if there was anyone on this forum that was in my same position and went through with buying a gt2. My specific genesis does have some rattles and creeks in the summer time since the plastic expands and it drives me crazy. Road noise is pretty good in my genesis and the power/acceleration is good as well. Basically I'm just wondering if anyone has been in my position and after owning the stinger as well as the genesis, can give me any advice or observations they have found after making the switch. Thanks for any help in advance!!

Creaks and squeaks and rattles and clicks and thuds and bumps, etc. Individual cars have them. The great majority of Stingers do not; as I gather the great majority of Genesis vehicles do not. Hopefully you will not be one of the unlucky ones. You can increase your odds by test driving copiously first. I got lucky: no test drive; just drove away and have been happy as a clam for fourteen months in my completely quiet GT1.

2015 was first model year for that generation, right? I think 2019/2020 stinger is safer and way more fun bet for you.

Awesome, thank you for the reply!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Yes 15 was the first model year for the 2md gen

I do think that you should keep your current car, it's not too old. When next gen g80 comes out, get that one but just wait for second model year (approx 2-2.5 more years). Though I love my stinger, kia service department won't be as good as genesis and genesis would be a better car for some extra cash.

The only place I can service my genesis around me is a hyundai/Ford combination service center and they suck so bad lol. I hate the service center

Well the stinger hatch and extra space is a big selling point for me. I won't need it very often but when I do need it it'll be very handy to have

Then stinger would suit you the best. There is nothing like it.

The only time something goes bump in mine is in the night...

Eric1004, I owned a 2015 Genesis but it was the 3.8, I owned a 5.0 R Spec prior to that. I recently traded the Genesis 3.8 in on a 2019 Stinger GT2 after a lot of research. I think they are very different cars the Genesis is bigger and more a luxo-cruiser while the Stinger is more like a performance GT sedan. The Genesis' I've owned were definitely quieter, softer and more reserved than the Stinger but I like the more aggressive Stinger better. It looks so much better and is much rarer than the Genesis; I love the fact I hardly ever see one. The Stinger is sooo much more fun to drive and is a much better performing car (even compared to the R Spec). The sport oriented seats in the Stinger are more adjustable and more comfortable to me compared to the Genesis which is more like a lounge chair. The Stinger is smaller but the hatchback is so much more practical than the trunk of the Genesis. The Stinger GT comes from the factory as a great car but I love that there are so many after market modifications available. The Stinger is much more versatile as well; it's a great family, grocery getting, major Costco run vehicle, it's a businessman's saloon and can be a weekend track/drag strip/drift car if you want. Not a fair comparison because of the 4 year difference but the tech has come a long way the Driver Assist elements are much better, infotainment is improved and Apple Carplay is a nice plus. Finally people who own Stingers are absolutely passionate about them.
Hyundai service used to be great but its gone way downhill in recent years haven't been in for KIA service yet but the buying experience was great. The sunroof of my Genesis would creak when open and going over bumps, so far the Stinger is quiet there. Hope this helps let me know if you have any specific questions.

My service center has been professional and satisfying so far. I figure that c. two out of three to three out of four Kia service/dealerships are good ones. (Based on the Consumer Reports survey of car owners; Kia scored on a scale of 1000 in the low 700s, I want to say - from memory - say, 731. BMW, Audi, scored in the upper 700s or low 800s, iirc; so not a big difference there. Someone shared that survey on here months ago; and to view it now you'd have to "become a member".)

I traded my 2018 G80 3.3 Sport for my 2019 Stinger GT2 AWD.
I'm always getting a new car even though they usually all have very low mileage.
This G80 (no AWD) had under 4k miles when I traded it.
The G80 was larger, more luxurious, roomier (except trunk space).
I just liked the looks of the Stinger, and it has the same motor as the G80 had.
I really liked the color on the G80 and never saw another one in the same color.
This color was only available on the Sport model.
I thought the Ceramic Silver with red interior was a great color combo,
and as the G80, have not seen another in this color on the road.
As for the service dept.... it was poor. It was too small for the amount of cars they had to service.
A long wait, even with an appointment.
This was a Hyundai dealership, and they are soon going to build a separate Genesis dealership
next door, and have it's own service dept. which should help, but I'm now going to see how my
Kia dealership service dept. is. They are both owned by the same guy - Rick Case, who owns many
of these dealerships.

Road noise I have driven a G30 540i My take low speed 540i is slightly quieter between 80km/h to 110KM/H Stinger higher the G30 takes. The drive wise I prefer the Stinger hands down.

That is beautiful and unique, but also subtle. Never seen a car in that color.

Agreed..... it was a tough decision to trade it in, mainly due to the color, and roominess.
The Stinger is just sportier, and feels smaller. The G80 drives big.
One more pic of the G80...

If that had a dedicated hatch design, it would be a keeper. :)
