• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Check out the you tube vidoe
I found this on the net. Its a drain valve so you don't get oil splashing all over the skid pan and in the chassis when you get an oil change. Easy to fit just watch the video. The cost shipped including the pipe adapter for the tube if you want to attach it is only $56. The Australian distributor EZ Oil Drain Valve (ask for Jack) is offering all members a 5% discount, the model to order is the F106SX. Check out t he website or give him a call.

I see they are based in the "plains" being a small suburb i should know where they are.

I've had this on my mazda for years. Makes oil changes so much easier and faster. Will probably pick up after next oil change

(although the retarded location of the filter on the Stinger will require getting underneath, I still don't plan on touching the drain plug. This is so much more convenient, and no mess..)

eflyguy, have you used the vacuum extractor on the Stinger? I have one too, but haven't gotten to my first oil change yet.

Please post pics once fitted.

That will be hard as it's underneath the cover and secondly I can't get underneath to take the photo
Get your dealer to do it when they fit it.

Tried that once before they forgot to tale photo.
Get em to write it on the service Sheet when you drop it off then mechanic cannot forget.

Why would you get this valve installed if you get the dealership to change your oil?

The outlet faces out not down so when the plug is unscrewed the oil goes every where . The valve prevents that.

And why is that your problem again? Unless you're doing it yourself, why make it easier for stealerships to charge you silly amounts of money for an oil change?

Dealer had no problem with 10k change and I watched it fall out. Both undercovers were removed (no more than 2 minutes) and no mess.

Every dealer is different. Mine is pretty good but once before when I had my Optima the previous dealership made a real mess of the oil change and it went all offer the underbody scuff cover. I don’t want that risk so $60 for the valve is a no brainer and the service guys don’t have to take the scuff cover off as I have asked them to do at my dealership. My car is well looked after there so I’m happy and the cost difference is minimal. My 12 month dealers service is $252.
