Hey guys,

So I'm trying to get a better understanding of the impact on driving feel each (or both) of these mods have on our Stinger. I did not came accross an open thread on the matter, so I decided to start one (sorry if there's one).

I know there's some very knowledgeable guys around here, so I'm asking you, car freaks, to please enlighten me. I know that this might very much be subjective, but I'd like to have your opinions on WHICH mod is best and WHY, or if BOTH mods at the same time is best than only one.

Please mention the ride quality changes, road bumps feel, looks, cornering improvement, bang for buck, acceleration improvement?, stability at higher speed or lack thereof, importance of measurements (width for sways/drop for springs) or anything of importance.

Please don't turn this thread into "which sways or springs are better and why". This is not the point of this thread.

Looking forward to read all your thoughts on the matter!

I voted for the springs because I have them and really like how the car rides and handles now. It also gets rid of that 4x4 stance the AWD Stingers have.

That said, I don’t winter drive my car and if I did, I’d 100% only do the sways. I’ve had a lowered car in the winter and the snow and ice destroys your belly pan and the lower edge of your front bumper.

I just voted (sways) to see the results, which I thought might be higher :-) So -1 for sways - I haven't done anything yet..

There is a couple of threads on this that go into lots of detail if you search the forum. I have the sways front and rear set to soft and the car drives much better than stock and sticks to the road like glue. I dont think you would need springs unless you want to lower your car.
Ride quality changes - better
Road bumps feel - same
Looks- same
Cornering improvement- far better than stock
Bang for buck- good
Acceleration improvement- not really but if you drop the peddle going around a corner its less twitchy.
Stability at higher speed - very good

Since half of the freaking year is winter, where I live, I need to think about snow lots of it. I know that lowering the car might cause me issues, but I'm more interested in the specific differences between both mods. I'm AWD on the stock 19in staggered setup.

I searched through 7 or 8 pages and couldn't find any. Can you copy the link to one of those in depth analysis, please?

And also, thanks for your input. Appreciated!

A few have done the springs alone but its the sways that make the difference. As to the other thread have a look in the suspension forum.

I have both Eibach springs and front and rear sways. The springs have been on about 10 months and make a significant difference in the look and ride. The ride is how I would say luxurious.

The sways have been on less than a week so the jury is still out. I'm hoping this afternoon to give them another work out.

I voted springs at this stage.

Here’s a good link for starters, some good input on this one, happy reading & I hope this helps with your questions.
Eibach F/R Swaybar Review!

Sway bars for handling improvement. Some who have installed the springs have said camber will be a bit off and cannot be adjusted to be in spec. on some cars. I don't want to hassle with this.

Springs won't have a significant impact on handling (more so on ride), swaybars will.

So if you're after looks, springs. If you're after improved performance, swaybars.

I'm a "function over form" kinda guy, and the stock ride quality works for me, so I'd do sways first.

I just recently had springs installed about a week before getting my sway bars. I can say the springs were a definite improvement in quality of ride and slightly improved some handling characteristics. I mostly added springs for the looks factor but was very pleasantly surprised with the improved ride. I like to do some spirited driving from time to time and I had taken my stock Stinger through the twisties a couple of times and was very disappointed. All I can say about the sway bars is they make a night and day difference in overall handling. The car now handles the twisties nearly as well as my former Corvette did. I agree with those who have said it depends on what's most important to you. For me I'm very glad I did both at separate times so I knew what each was responsible for. For my money, they were both equal as far as bang for my buck but if I could only do one thing it would be the sway bars.
