• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Taking my MY18 baby for her first service tomorrow! Anything I should ask for or demand?

Rattles? Any noise from diff at low speed on full lock? Paint rub around headlights?
Other than that you should be good.

Make sure your map is current, ask for the upgrade they are free. Take a photo of your screen before, then check it after.
This is mine after update & I believe it’s still current.

Also ask to check any TSB campaigns for you car.

Hi there @Stinger GT SS , I just downloaded that version yesterday, but i need to buy an adapter for the Stinger's SD Card, my laptop doesn't have an SD Card slot.
My dealer updated mine, you may have to get a USB card reader.

I will buy a USB Hub with an SD Card slot tomorrow, I asked my dealership if they could update the Navigation Maps for me, they said NO, last friday when I took my Stinger in for it's 12 months service. Anyway , i have worked how to do it myself, i guess buying the adapter will come in handy for yearly updates.

What does this sound like? And what’s full lock?
It's like a low "rrrrrrr" sound when turning steering wheel full from one side to the other.

Not particularly but there was a TSB put out on it. Just involves changing to a different grade of oil.

That’s just lazy & poor service by your dealer.

Ha, mine is in today too...I asked them to look at;
  • Headlights are too low (yes I found the adjustment thread on here, but they can do it for me)
  • Check wheel alignment, pulls to the left (.. and no, it's not the road camber)
  • Check auto shifts 3-4-5 ... seems too notchie? (is that even a word?)
  • ...and NO complimentary wash thanks

Navigation Maps Update complete....:):), even though my dealership didn't offer to update it for me during my Stinger's recent 12 months service, maybe it was for the better, for one I learnt how the whole online process works, which I can use again for next year, and I didn't realise before that there was an SD card slot, just above the hazard lights button, and after the recent 12 month service, the less the technicians in the service dept have to put their hands on, in my Stinger the better, knowing my luck they could have decided to update the Maps for me, and caused other problems, like being careless and damage the Nappa Leather seat while getting in and out of the driver's seat, and waiting for the system too update.....:mad::mad:

Mine didn’t make a noise or require full lock. Only ever noticed it backing out the driveway and going from reverse to drive and turning to head up the street. It felt like a grind or a slight vibration in the rear end. Turn the radio off you may hear it. It feels a bit like it’s not quite getting traction when you change from reverse to drive it only momentarily. I’ve driven other cars with it (not Stingers) and you could hear and feel a rumble in the back end when cornering or taking off from lights/intersections.

Clearly I am too late for your service but have just had mine done after first twelve months and I had 3 issues so thought i would relay.
1. Creaking sounds coming from the roof lining every time outside temp was above 24 degrees or so you would get creaking sounds like walking on wonky floorboards and they were a pain in the a.....
2. Excessive wind noise in drivers side window at any speed but obviously worse at high speeds or open roads
3. Diff rumble sound when turning at full lock reverse or forward
All 3 issues handled very well by dealer who had in his hand a KIA service bulletin that identified the issues at 1 and 3. The issue at point 1 was insufficient silicon applied above roof lining - they needed the car a full day to rectify but they did it and no cost of course. Apparently its a fiddly process to correct
2 - the door was not quite in its right position meaning the window was also out of alignment - fixed
3 - no question asked - If its in the service bulletin, they fix it as per point 1
