Hello fellow Stingers!

I wanted to get opinions as to the type of products everyone has been using for the paint, door plastic trim, and the dark chrome (mirrors & grill)?

The priority would be the paint as I would like to wax the car, and I’m assuming some sort of protector sealant comes along with this process. I’ve had the car for 1 1/2 years now (Indigo Edition!) and I’ve haven’t done this yet. What’s the recommended products when it comes to clay bar (I’m assuming I’ll need to do that as well), and polish, and sealant (I guess ceramic coat is what I’ve seen, idk)?

Also side point, can I do this by hand or is it best to get a polishing machine - recommendations for that are welcome too!

Any ideas/suggestions are welcome as I’m pretty new to all this... trying to get it done before I go on a road trip.

Thanks!

I may be too late for your trip... but here's what I would do

Inspect the paint - if it has swirls and scratches, get a pro to polish it (tell them you are going to coat it this will impact the polish and prep they do cost me $250 to get mine done much better than DYI-ing it)
if you are happy with the way the paint looks you can skip the polishing step

When you get the car back, wash it with a strip wash car shampoo, and decontaminate the paint
use a clay towel if it wasn't polished use a clay lube that leaves no residue
Dry and wipe down the car with a paint prep, or isopropyl solution (carpro eraser is a good one)
Ceramic coat the car with your coating of choice - following the directions as per the manufacturer

Get some high quality microfiber towels - the Rag company is a great option you will need at least 5 types - drying, buffing/polishing, interior, glass and leather I do different colours as not to mix them (Red 450GSM buffing, Blue 360GSM, light Blue waffle for glass, Tan 360GSM for leather)

The products I use/used are
Amour shield ceramic coating
Chemical guys clean slate strip wash
Gtechnic glass coating

Exterior Maintenance
Gyeon Ceramic quick detailer (drying aid)
Carpro Perl (tire dressing diluted 1:1)
Gyeon wet coat (wheels, and grill work)
P&S brake buster (wheel cleaning)
CarPro Iron X (wheel cleaning every other month)

Interior
Chemical guys - leather cleaner / conditioner
CarPro Inner QD
Stoner Invisible glass
Carpro Perl diluted 2:1 (hard plastic door panels and surrounds

If all of this seams like too much work - wash, and decon the paint, and use Gyeon Can coat, every 4-6 months

exterior:
Meguiar's Ultimate Compund, Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Polish, TWHS or 303 Ceramic/Graphene spray wax, TWHS or Meguiar's Ceramic detailing spray, nanoskin mitt (easier to use vs a claybar), Stoner Invisible Glass

interior:
303 Aerospace for anything plastic, rubber, vinyl
303 Leather for leather
some sort of upholstery cleaner for the carpet

rust protection:
Blaster Surface Shield spray for the underside

electric pressure washer with cord reel for convenience
high powered cordless blower to dry car (i have an 80V Kobalt)

can do 99% of cleaning with those products
