I’m surprised this topic doesn’t come up more often, but I’m prepping to install my JUN B.L secondary downpipes and it occurred to me that they didn’t include gaskets (just bolts and nuts) with my kit so I’m now left to do my own research about which ones to get.

I did some rough measurements and it seems like I would need a pair (per pipe, of course) of 2.5” ID, two bolt gaskets. Obviously there are many out there to choose from, some that look like crimped metal, some that look like hardened putty, and some that are far more exotic, e.g. these “flexible graphite” ones from REMFLEX:

(Which reminds me, I need to double check the bolt-hole spacing).

Does anyone have an opinion on which gaskets to go with? Recommendations for or against certain materials, manufacturers, or models?

Links always appreciated!

I used the remflex mopar gaskets on my secondaries and they worked perfectly with zero leaks. I highly recommend them. Just make sure you flip the box over and torque to the specs it says on the back of the remflex box, the torque specs are a lot lower than youd expect because the graphite is softer.

Thanks, NS! you happen to know the remflex part # you used?

Sure, it was:

Remflex (6005) 2-1/2" Exhaust Pipe Flange Gasket

I used them on my ARK secondaries, you only need a pair of them since you reuse the oem gaskets on one end of the secondaries. The end closest to the front of the car on both pipes just reuse the oem gasket.

Thanks!

I'd love to know the rationale behind reusing one of the gaskets. Is that a "must" (is the gasket permanently affixed somehow?), a "best practice" (do it this way or else...), or just a way to save money?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Thanks!

No idea what the rational is, here is the installation note from ARK:

"All Bolt-on System. 2 gasket for two flanges pointing to the rear section of the vehicle. Please use your OEM / Stock gasket for flanges facing the engine of the vehicle"

ARK didnt see a need to replace them and Im not sure why.
