yo. so i now joined a lexus is300 forum. lowkey it isn't as good as the kia stinger forum at all!!

for those that know about engine swaps. i wanted to hear your thoughts on a 1jz. the 2jz it comes with is nice but its not built for a turbo without me needing to drill holes into the engine which i don't feel comfortable doing just yet.

also tuning the stinger or using a piggy back is way more straight forward then a 2003 car. didn't expect that for some reason. up for the challenge tho.

What about a 1.5JZ?

no bike op?
still getting the bike! i just need to find out how my dui turns out tomorrow. might not be able to apply for the permit or license for a couple months depending if it gets dismissed or not. the swap wont happen soon also. will buy the engine andd upgrade internals while i have it out before the swap.

yes sir! that's for the 2jz the is300 comes with. a naturally asperated one. if you want to turn it into the same engine that a supra has then i would need to drill two more near the cams to put two sensors. 1jz already has it tho since its a twin turbo engine but ima just have one big one on it instead for space reasons.

He's alive to post this, so obviously didn't get the bike. :p
bruh lol

i also almost have all the parts to manual swap the car but now that I'm deciding to engine swap the car I'm going to sell or trade my o4 is300 trans for a mk3 supra trans to be able to handle the power once i tune it.

YEAH LOL! it needs a little work on the body. interior is peeerrsteeeennn. I'm going to replace the back bumper since it doesn't line up properly. thought it had a hidden hit but thankfully not the case! it has a broken clit that doesn't allow it to perfectly line up buy will take some photos later today.

the car came with a welded diff that I'm going to replace soon. drove a welded diff in the rain yesterday for the first time and almost shit myself taking a right.

Would 1.5 JZ setup not work for you then?
2JZ block + 1JZ head. Since you said the 1JZ head has the holes already

OHHH SHIT I DINT KNOW ABOUT THE 1.5. let me so more research real quick and i shall get back to you. i mainly wanted the 1jz since its similar with a higher rpm. also can work on the internals while i have it out before doing the swap to lessen the down time of the car

sounds pretty interesting but i think ima just stay with the 1jz swap. i would still need to drill into the 2jz to turn it into a 2jz nat which is the turbo variant of my engine.
