So little trim that goes over the key hole on the door handle fell off the other day.
As I closed the door, it just fell off. There are no signs of impact damage on the trim, but the two tabs that hold it in its place broke off.

Do you know where I can order these? Preferably painted already?

Thanks 20200711_134009.webp

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks after I bought mine. Dealer refused to fix it so I had them order one and I’d install it. Turns out it didn’t come painted (my ignorance to expect the dealer would step up and fix this little issue to keep a new owner happy) so I just put it back on secured with some 3M tape. It’s held strong for over a year...no problems. The only other option was to buy the part from the dealer and take it to a body shop to have it painted myself. Kinda lame imo but it is what it is.

Hang on, shouldn't this be warranty work?

I was afraid that I wouldn't be find this piece already painted.

I do belive it should be covered by warranty, but I'm losing confidence that the dealership will cover it.
They might blame it on me... or that something/someone bumped into it.

But I'll swing by the dealership sometime next week and report on what they say.

Thanks

Yeah good luck and keep us updated. This situation frustrated me to no end but once I reattached it with 3M tape and realized it was on there really well, I completely forgot about it until I saw your post. Outta sight outta mind. It's not the best solution, but it's not going anywhere now. If they deny your claim, give it a try

Not a big problem, just buy the part and maybe you were rough with the handle? As you can see on this video the handle parts come out really easy but they are not flimsy whatsoever. If you have some money guy the CF one they look amazing.
