hey guys, I was looking to purchase the seibon ts carbon fiber hood and was wondering if people were using hood pins with them?. Can’t really find anything regarding it. Thinking about drilling holes into a brand new carbon hood scares the shit outta me

I installed them on mine. Hated to do it, but better be safe than sorry.

Must have on any carbon fiber hood.

Yes you need them. Cutting into carbon is easy just make sure you're absolutely certain about placement before you cut. Also, be sure to properly align the hood before anything else, you should have an even panel gap all the way around.

I used Quick-Latch QL-25 with the longer 4inch M8 pins these are fine for stablizing the hood when used with the factory hood latch (Quik-Latch.Com Your Authorized Dealer For Quik-Latch Products). I also purchased the lower pressure gas struts as the stock ones will cause damage to the hood over time is used.

@RogueIV Okay thanks, I bought them. They didn’t have the 4 inch bolt in stock, so I have to use the 2inch one it comes with. Hopefully it works. Quick question where did you mount the bolts in the engine bay?

Pics please. Would also love to see where you placed/mounted the bolts in the engine bay.

Have a post heere about it. I can take pics underhood later but the pins are in place of the front two bolts for the braces that goto the strut towers. Had to use the longer m8 bolt for this location also needed to be m8 since i used m8 helicoils that conveniently thread into the factory m10 threded holes of the bolts i replaced.
