Do the bolsters of the drivers seat lightly grip into you now and then while outside of sport mode?

In sports mode, the bolsters of the seat dig into you more as we all know. But I notice every now and then the seat will grip into you briefly and lightly from time to time (I think in hindsight it might be when I'm lighting accelerating, but nothing aggressive). I first thought it was me but a friend noted that too when she drove it in comfort mode. It's ever so light, and so I wouldn't say it's gripping me like sport mode, but it does feel like I'm being lightly touched nevertheless.

Is this a feature (and if so, whats the trigger for it?) or do you think my seat might be a little... not 100% and it shouldn't be doing this.

Uhhh. The bolsters are not active or dynamic. You set it. That’s it. It only inflates/deflates at startup/shutdown.

Your car is possessed if it’s moving on it’s own.

Actually, when I switch into sport mode my bolsters move in and I think most stingers do that?

I have not noticed the bolsters moving at other times.

Us first year buyers did not get this feature. :(
I test drove a 2020 GT2 when they first came out, and noticed the bolsters tightening when I switched it to sport mode.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
i had that feature on MY19 , which tightens up side bolsters when in sports mode but it stopped working after ECU reset.....

I suspect this is a GT2 thing as I haven't noticed the bolsters changing on my GT1.

Roger that. Only seats with 16 positions settings get movable side bolsters. (I wouldn't know about changes to them after MY18.)

I have a 2019 GT2, the bolsters only move when I use the switch. it does not happen when I switch to sports mode. I thought it was supposed to but never did.

I believe they do outside of sport mode at least my MY20 does.

They are automatic in sport mode.

But also there's an option the steering wheel dash menu for enhanced lateral support under convenience. You can turn this on or off. I've only noticed them coming on outside of sport mode during heavy cornering (there's a few windy roads that I don't wimp out on)

Im not even upset I didnt get the active bolsters. Just because I can still adjust them!

Find gas pedal. Liberally apply right foot to pedal. Seats won't tighten around you but you will tighten to seat. Does that count?

Not sure about active bolsters in comfort mode... Smart may do this when it detects enough input to change to smart sport.

Can't seem to find the setting in my MY22 GT2. Looked through all of the steering wheel menu options.

Can you elaborate on where to find? Thanks!

No bolster squeezing in sport mode on my 2019 GTS and I that is one feature that I did not want along with Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive cruise control and electric hatch lift. Less electronics then less potential for failures in the long run. I think the bolster position at the static position is perfect for me as is. BTW I drive in sport mode about 95% of the time.

Agreed. I had adjustable seat and torso bolsters in the G. Found a happy medium between aggressive backroad setting and in town comfort. Once set didn't touch 'em for either.

My 2019 GT2 doesn’t seem to have that feature, or I don’t know how to turn it in.

I swear I've found myself wondering the same thing. I've chalked it up to phantom bolsters, every so often it feels like they've cinched up a bit, only thing is I can't prove or replicate it. Now you've got me thinking again...
