did changing your brake pads solve your brake vibration?

I know we've all said this is the way to fix your brake vibration and in theory it should work, but has anyone actually changed pads and fixed this problem? I'm at 11k miles now and the vibration is really getting annoying. I'm thinking of doing a nice burn on the rotors then changing the pads out.

I'm in the same boat. I went out the other night and tried re-bedding the brakes and it didn't do a damn thing. Now I'm trying to decide whether to just swap rotors and pads or take it to the dealer so they can only fix it temporaily.

I'm in the same boat. I doubt we can fix it by simply swapping pads.

I plan on going with the Gyro disc 2 pc rotors and a quality pad.

You can fix it by swapping pads and having existing rotors turned if they are thick enough. If not new rotors. I installed new stock rotors and Gyrodisc pads a few months ago but only time and mileage will tell if it resolves it.

It fixed my issue. Made the change 7-8k miles back and haven't had the vibration resurface, yet.

I had the stock pads and rotors taken off of the car. Brand new Kia rotors and Stoptech Street Performance pads (from Khartunerz) were put back on the car. The pad deposits worsened. I have narrowed it down to when the rotors get wet (rain or wash is enough to do it) and sit overnight. So much pad material transfers that you can see the outline of the brake pad. I think that I am going to swap the pads again for an abrasive and dusty one. I never had this trouble with the semi-metallics, only excessive dusting. I have had good experiences with the Hawk Street HPS 5.0. We will see what happens!

what pads did you get? Did you get new rotors too, get them turned, or just burned off the deposits with some hard braking?

1k miles so far on my new set and no issues. Yes, disks were changed.

I am posting so that I get updates on yet another brake issues thread (I sign onto all of them).

c. 22K miles and not a trace of trouble. But, if it ever does happen, I'll take even excessive brake dust over shuddering brakes. Believe it. I'd clean my front wheels and even the front of my car daily if it meant never having to deal with vibrating, shuddering, lumpy feeling brakes. I know this ahead of any issues; and all you all have my profoundest sympathy!

So I tried re-bedding my brakes and it looks to have cleaned all the deposits off the passenger front rotor but the drivers side is still visibly bad. You can clearly see the lines of deposits all over it. The re-bedding has changed the vibration to different speeds than before but not eliminated it. I'll probably try re-bedding one final time to see if I can clear up the driverside before I take it into the dealer.

This is what I have been repeatedly doing to remove the deposits. I may just keep doing it until I can find a solution to the larger problem.

Hmmm, might have to find a spot to do this at!

Subscribing. I have a set of 4 Centrics and front Stoptech pads sitting in the garage. I am trying to decide what to do.
Re-bed with factory pads then put the Stoptech on the factory rotors for now would be my preferred course of action.

My rotors were fine up to 10,000 miles but for the last 5,000 they have been annoying. When I re-bed the issue comes back in a couple days.

I got the Girodisc Magic pads. Installed them right after Kia turned the stock rotors.

For me, the short answer is yes.

What was a yes? Did you rebed your brakes and get rid of the vibration?

If so, I just need to get to the track and get these things glowing again!
