What are some diagnostic tools everyone uses and what will it allow you to do?

I’ve got a Bluetooth obd plug and the free torque app.

A buddy has a device for his BMW that allows him to turn things on and off, test a blinker etc. Is there anything to that level for KIA?

That looks legit. Can you turn things on and off at will. Such as lane departure or electronic suspension?

The support for each brand differs as far as those kinds of functions (advanced). This box can reset TPMS, change a battery registration ,make new key fobs and deregister lost ones which is really good for $1000. To get the kind of control you’re looking for you would have to get into the $5000+ diagnostic boxes.

I use the GScan2 made by Gitauto.
This company also manufactures the factory scantool for Hyundai/Kia/Genesis.
This tablet is fully featured. It can do everything that the dealership scantool can do.
You can Check OBD codes, log data, activate sensors, switches, lights and settings.
It can also do vehicle software coding. You can code various modules in the car for different behavior.
For example, the Electronic Power Steering can be set firmer or softer, by coding in Europe or Australia’s regional settings. You can also code the regional setting for the Electronically Controlled Suspension, producing different ride/handling characteristics.

The settings (EPS and ECS) don’t have options for Soft, Normal, or Firm like previous Hyundai’s.
Instead options are North America, Europe, Australia, Korea, Russia or Default (in the EPS module). The ECS module has options for those same regions plus additional choices of RWD/AWD and 2.0T/2.2D/3.3T.
Each combination of all of those settings has their own behaviors on the road.

One thing I do find missing is there is no place to electronically adjust the height of the Adaptive LED headlights in the GT2, even though some people on the forum have reported that their dealer have adjusted theirs with the scantool. I’m still looking into this though.

Another capability is the ability to update any of the vehicles computers (ECU/TCU/EPS/ECS/etc.) when Kia releases software/firmware/recall updates for the vehicle.

I got mine for about $2500 on Amazon.

There’s a new Gscan3 coming out soon. They have it oversees, but it’s not sold in North America yet.
This Gscan2 is working fine and fully featured at the moment, so I’m not missing the just released model.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Rise from the ashes thread!

Anyone know of other scan tools that can do variant coding? Would like to change the ECS to Europe on my G70
