I just have to ask if anyone else gets an abnormal amount of dents and scuffs on their Stinger. I have gotten more dents on this car in under a year of ownership than I did on my last 3 cars combined. I don't get it, I'm starting to think that people are doing it on purpose because it's ridiculous. I've only put around 4,000 miles on the car so it's not like I'm driving it all over either, but I've gotten 5 dents and today I noticed a nice scuff on the front where someone obviously hit the car with something.

I am probably the most anal person you could ever meet when it comes to parking courteously, I will not park like a jerk so it's not like I'm asking for it. I park away from people when I can, and if I can't I try to park next to a curb so at least only one car will be able to park next to me. I actively avoid situations that could get my car hit, but it's happening more with this car than any other I've owned.

Seriously, is it just me??? Or has anyone else experienced this? It pains me to see all the dents on this car, I just can't believe it.

Sorry to hear about that, it sounds like most of those are purposeful. Maybe start parking way away from entrances? That’s the good thing about the ghost grey it isn’t as attention grabbing.

I don't want to think badly of our neighbors, especially in Murray, where I was born and raised. So, I think that if you're being accurate in your assessment of your parking acumen, that you're just unlucky. Hopefully this will change! Try even harder to park a distance away. I pick the furthest curb, not the closest, to the store front. Etc. A good little walk is good for health. We're so sedentary in this day and age.

I actually had more light damage in the first three months of ownership than any time since. One scuff looked like a Frisbee had bounced off the left end of my spoiler. It only scratched the clearcoat so I was able to buff it out. A rock on my first road trip (car two weeks old!) near my right headlight, went right through to the black plastic (on the same trip I sustained the largest nick so far in my windshield too). Nobody has opened their door into me so far. I ascribe that to my fanatical insistence on not getting out of my car until it is as out of the way as possible.

No dents (touch wood), only stone chips especially in the windscreen. It seems like you are trying your best to park away from other cars but car parks can certainly take their toll on your car with shopping trolleys and other car doors being the main offenders. Unfortunately some car owners just don't give a rats arse about theirs or other person's cars. As Merlin said, you just need to park miles away from everyone else. I have had several small dents removed from my daily driver by a dent guy. Relatively inexpensive and great work with no painting required. Maybe you should look at getting those dents fixed.

I will certainly have to look into getting the dents done, it drives me nuts to see them. At this point I feel like I should wait though so I'm not going every other week to get one repaired:cry:.

Perhaps the car is unlucky, when I bought it it had a small dent from someone's door which sucked but certainly wasn't going to deter me from buying it, but it's only gotten worse from there. Like I said I've never had this issue before on a vehicle I've owned. My last car had no dents on it at all, and I don't remember any other vehicle I've owned being hit like this either. I don't know what the deal is with this car maybe I need to get it exorcised or something.

Luxe Auto Spa does paintless dent removal. (They also do undercarriage spray out, which is why I'm interested in them: no more car wash tunnels for my Stinger.)

Maybe airing your sorrows on the forum will change your fortunes. I believe in the metaphysical power of positive thinking. (aka prayer):D

I agree with the stone/rock chip magnet comments. i have chips in the windshield and front clip... and every single one “stings”!!! Maybe THATS why it’s called a Stinger.... ;) db

For reference, I’m dropping off my mustang for some dent repair this Friday. After 17 years (10 with me), the car has accumulated about 5 door dings and has about 8 acorn dents on the roof. Also had something blow a literal hole in my bumper on the highway back in 2015. Anyway I’m looking at $300ish for the doors and $100ish for the roof dents, just so you have a ballpark estimate of prices.

no dents caused by other people for me in 16 months, luckily. I do everything possible to avoid them. Car is garage kept. Any time I go somewhere, I park far away from everyone unless its impossible. At work right now and if I look out the window, my car is isolated from everyone else, all the way at the far end of the lot.

Have had some rock chips, scratches, and a few other marks from driving it 24,000 miles. The paint on this car is known to be very thin and fragile. But no door dings or dents.

Also, 6 days after getting the car, I was parked outside during a storm (didn't have a choice at the time) and part of a house roof landed on my car's roof, causing a few dents. That was depressing, but I had it fixed. And I also hit a deer which created an $8,000 dent in the front end . Buuuut that was fixed, so no dents right now, knock on wood.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. definitely hurts to see damage on our beautiful cars

OMG. Part of your roof falls on your car and you hit a deer. You’ve had some bad luck too.

yeaaahhh. I have haha. Really sucks when stuff like that happens, but I love this car, so I got her fixed as good as new. Hopefully nothing like those things ever happens again.

Fingers crossed.

Too shiny! Can't see most of those dings (I can only see one in the first pic). I guess you have to be there. :P

No dents / scratches ( touch wood ) I park very strategically when at work and when shopping etc. I even see which direction the wind is blowing and scan for loose shopping trolleys to where the safest place to park will be . I have a black Vue camera too, two friends of mine have had bad luck with their cars ( sounds like you ) both think they have an invisible target sign on their cars as they have been dinged and hit that much.
I did actually have a dent in the front from a stone that got thrown at me by a passing car but I paid to get the dent out, there is a little scuff mark on the ppf now which is kinda annoying but at least I know the actual paint on the car's ok.

People are real a**holes and generally are lazy and jealous. Ohh nice car to park next to...DUNK oops?
How often do you detail the car up close? Just try to take note and let the little ones slide. IT'LL BUFF OUT!

This thread caused me to have a dream (or should I say nightmare) that I found a door ding on my stinger. I was very relieved to wake up and find that it wasn't real. whew

My nightmare came true in the local CostCo parking lot. When I parked I was a good number of spaces away from the crowd. Returning to my semi-surrounded car. Someone had given my door a ding and then moved away as the car parked next to me didn't have a long enough door to hit my car. Took the door panel off and got most of the ding out by tapping it from the inside, but there's still a small indent on the driver's rear door where I get to see it every time I get into the car.
