Morning, anyone try just cutting out the secondary stock cat vs buying an aftermarket secondary downpipe (i.e. Ark, Jun BL, etc)?

Thinking about it - keeping everything stock but just cutting out the secondary cat.

Interested to know if anyone's tried this and what the results were.

Thx!

The only difficulty you might face is welding on the new piece of pipe. The stock downpipes aren't round. they're kind of "squished". Its an uneven oval shaped pipe. And of course keep in mind that it would be harder to go back to stock if you wanted to

Out of curiosity, are you planning on adding aftermarket secondary downpipes?

Yea, just kind of contemplating ideas here. Love the way my Scorpion is stock. Honestly, I'm hesitant to start adding aftermarket parts not because of voiding warranty but I just really think the car is engineered beautifully as is. But, if I do decide to go aftermarket, I really want it to be simple bolt ons that won't cause any sort of significant change to the car's cranium or engine. Think intakes, exhaust and secondary DPs would be the extent of dipping into the aftermarket scene.

So was just curious to see what other folks have had experience with.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
May I ask why? Did you have issues with the secondaries?
They just didn't mesh well with the MBRP. The sound was excellent, but even with exhaust tips, I got an awful metallic buzzing/vibration at certain RPMs that just ruined it. Made the car sound like a clapped out civic when that happened. I've read quite a few reports of this, but I had to try for myself.

Oh wow that’s disappointing
