Not the first to praise about Crown Kia of Dublin, OH, but they gave me a great experience and are very knowledgeable about the Stinger. The person I spoke to over the phone knew about the common issues that the Stinger unfortunately faces. I went in for an oil change and sun roof rattle but left with solutions to basically all of my complaints about my Stinger.

What the service tech told me:

1. There is a new fix for the hatch rattle that does not involve just the spacers but is still under warranty.

2. They will re-grease rails for sunroof but said there is a better fix out there. I had to re-schedule a visit when a Kia rep is at the shop, but this will get fixed under warranty in the future.

3. Window trim that is showing uneven coloring or pealing is replaceable under warranty, but they have to send photos to Kia before ordering the parts.

4. Flaking paint on roof rails is covered under warranty and they will order new ones and replace them with the window strips.

What is the better fix for point 2?

This is awesome to hear! I will definitely be going to them for my warranty work. I think it will be worth the extra hour drive for me.

This.

Although I would prefer to fix it myself if possible since I am unable to stand the Kia dealership experience lol!

I have had zero reason to go anywhere but Crown for either Kia or FCA (ummm...not my text) vehicles. They always have done an outstanding job with both people I know and my own experiences. Glad to hear others on this forum continue to have the same great experiences!

1. Sounds like the actual rubber stopper gets replaced instead of just using a washer, but I will update once it gets replaces. I am doing everything together so it might be a couple weeks.

2. I did not ask what would be replaced but he told me they would have to drop my head liner to fix it.

I would agree. Definitely be prepared to stay a while as they were pretty slow the day I went.

I finally got my Eibach Lowering Springs and Sway bars put in. First time I used Crown and was impressed as others were with them. Even though I had done a number of mods myself, I had no intention of doing the Springs myself since I don’t have access to a lift. Daniel and his crew did a great job. He originally said that it could all be done in one day. However, when it was going to go overnight he offered Enterprise Rental free of charge. The next day he called me with unfortunate news that I had a cracked insulator bearing assembly shown below. HOWEVER, it was covered under warranty and said they would fix it free of charge. Because they did not have the part available, it was going to go into another day of the car being at the shop. He offered again to provide Enterprise rental if needed. I drove the car with him riding along and it did not seem that there was any creaking from the sway bar bushings. It handled great. Definitely, can tell a difference with the Eibach Pro-kit in. All in all, it was a good experience and I definitely plan to switch to this dealership for all my cars needs. Had I gone to the non dealership shop they most likely would have missed the existing damage or at the very least not been in a position to cover the part under warranty. So I am happy with Crown’s service and attention. Pics are pre-car washing. Lol

You failed to mention how many hours/how much they charged.

Good point. $760 total for the Sways and Springs. $129 for alignment. They did give me a free oil change as well. The find on the warranty part made all the difference going to the dealer. I priced it with a local shop and they wanted over $1k which was ridiculous. I think they went over on their hours but honored the price we initially agreed to.

Did you get the fix for #1 yet? Interested in the details. Have the same issue in my new 2021 GT Line

What is the better fix for point 2?

Sorry for taking so long to update this but we had to wait for parts to come in and for me to have time to drop off my car.

1. There is a new fix for the hatch rattle that does not involve just the spacers but is still under warranty: Four new rubber bumpers. It helped the noise, but did not eliminate it unfortunately.

2. They will re-grease rails for sunroof but said there is a better fix out there. I had to re-schedule a visit when a Kia rep is at the shop, but this will get fixed under warranty in the future. I was told they are putting a hold on sending Kia reps out because of Covid. I will update when this finally happens.

3. Window trim that is showing uneven coloring or pealing is replaceable under warranty, but they have to send photos to Kia before ordering the parts. New trim is installed and looks excellent.

4. Flaking paint on roof rails is covered under warranty and they will order new ones and replace them with the window strips. I opted to hold off on these because they require the headliner to be dropped down. I will get them done with the sunroof.

This does not sound correct. Those plastic roof rails with cracked paint should be externally replaceable - pry - and press.

I asked but the tech said there are clips that need to be accessed from under the roof. I don't know why it would be designed like that

it isn't.
This information you have been provided is incorrect.

The full 2 step procedure is below - it's just 7 clips.

Step 1 = remove
Step 2 - replace

Note - always replace - can not be re-used (per Kia instructions)

Just had a talk with Daniel over at Celebration (formerly Crown). He said he is staying so that’s good. Hopefully, things remain the same.

Crown Kia is actually right up the street from me and where I first test drove the Stinger. They never got one in that I wanted to buy unfortunately.
