Got me some bad luck.

For the last week, I've been topping up a slow leak which I was confident was a nail in the tire - easy quick fix...

So finally today, decided to fix it.

After more time than I would like to admit, and after carefully inspecting the valve stem fitment and the valve core, and all of the tread. Eventually I found the leak...

Bad luck I guess. I didn't even hit any significant potholes recently.

I see FAST wheels has a Lifetime Structural Warranty, but that only applies to the original purchaser (I bought them used 2 years ago).

You figure its a manufacturing defect or maybe the crack started with the previous owner and grew over time?

I'm leaning towards manufacturers defect that grew over time, because this is the second season that I am using them and the original owner use them for at least one season.

I had zero leaks last season, and this new slow leak just developed last week

Is that paint bubbling?

That bubbling looks like heat has been applied to that area. I wonder if that spot had sustained some damage and the previous owner had repairs done.

The reason I doubt it - is that, usually repairs to aftermarket winter wheels is not very cost effective VS just replacing the the wheel.

But anything is possible.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother either, to be quite honest. Regardless of how well the repair was done, the wheel will never be anywhere near as strong as it was brand new.

Only reason I brought it up was that "bubbling". I wouldn't know for sure.

Buying used always come with some risk, be it wheels, cars, or anything else. But sometimes the $$ savings is worth it. I just bought a set of Enkei RPF1's, and I would be kidding myself if I knew everything that that set of wheels has gone through, and that there are no risks involved. We make our choices and live by them.

Faaak.

No stock on a replacement
Maybe welding is my only option.

Wow....what a coincidence. I hit a pothole today and cracked and bent my back passenger rim this morning on the way to work.
Fast EV02 18 inch, I have the tire rim replacement warranty so the rim is covered but the closest one is in Calgary..So I wont get it til next week.
The tire looks undamaged but wont know for sure until they take it off the rim.

JBweld

Buy 2 of the same set but in a different color for the other side of your car. I've always wanted to do that, like heterochromia but for wheels.

Man... hate to hear that. Well, at least that crack is probably the easiest type to repair and has the least impact on the wheel strength.

Even though I'm usually one that don't like to follow the herd and prefer to take my own path, when it comes to aftermarket wheels, I tend to stick withe the popular ones... precisely for this reason.

BTW, what size tire does it have on?

I myself hit a sizable pothole last weekend. I thought for sure I had bought the farm, but turned out both tire and wheel were fine, not a scratch or any sign of damage. Maybe the stiff coilover made it sound much worse than it really was. Made me glad I wasn't running 19's.

Oh okay. We run either 235/45R18 or 255/40R18 for everyday driving over public roads.

I got my FC04's from Canada Wheels and they appear to be in stock still?

Thanks.

I need 1 PC of Titanium with a 30 offset

When I search that site for Titanium and 30, only the black shows up, with 40

Regardless, thanks for sharing, and I will be calling them today to confirm.

I was going to suggest to check ebay. Sometimes you can get lucky and find discontinued items.

If the Titanium is available in ET35, you could get a 5mm hubcentric spacer to match your other ET30 FC04's. That's what we run with our Enkei's.

ET40 won't be quite as simple.

Good suggestions - thanks.

Rim is at a shop now, needs some welding - Hoping for quick turn around.
