On GT2 they started with 3K markup, then dropped to $1500 but wouldn't go lower. MSRP is higher as well. Higher than normal money factor but offered to drop it once so far. $1900 Appearance fee, $700 delivery charge. No bueno.

Haha, appearance fee?!? That's a new one.

Welcome aboard, @mcmckuf! Thank you for signing up! Wow, an APPEARANCE fee! Special appearance! You should charge THEM an appearance fee for showing up! :p
Yeah, I left after saying I'm sure these won't be here in a few months.

They backed off the markup pretty quick when I started out the door. The appearance package disappears too in the form of a discount for the same amount. Ended up getting mine for sticker less the big lease rebate from Kia (base model) and a small dealer discount.

What model did you purchase? BTW, you don't live out in Brandon/Valrico do you? I was waiting for a magnet school bus and a red Stinger drove by. Almost broke my neck trying to see it before it was gone. I'm handing my current car off to my oldest in May so waiting on the best deal by then...

I do live in the area but that one wasn’t me, I’d probably do the same though, I haven’t seen any others yet! I have a base in silver, not much of a speed person so the 2.0 was plenty for me.

I need to go back and test drive both on the same day. I'll never buy another non-turbo vehicle again but will I notice a difference on the 2.0 vs. the 3.3?

I did drive both (base 2.0 and base GT) before I made my decision, if you are driving normal everyday city driving I think they both perform great. If you put both in sport and get on it yeah there is a pretty good difference, the 2.0 is by no means slow but the 3.3 will definitely throw you back in the seat more. I’m in stop and go most the time and I’m not really into racing or speed so saving the 10k made more sense in my case. I also drove a few other brands (CLA, 320i) and to me the base Kia drove nicer than both. I suppose it also depends what options you want, I am perfectly content with the base. The sound system was the only thing I was on the fence about going premium but honestly the base system is really good and I couldn’t justify the extra just for that. The other options weren’t really things I cared about.

Follow up....I finally landed the deal I wanted at this dealer. Erich Freeman is the Sales Manager. I dealt only with him and would recommend the same to anyone worried about the Kia experience. I don't normally say this about car sales guys, but he's a genuinely nice person who didn't play any games with me at all.

Good to hear that. I had a similar experience with Rusty Jackson at Superior Kia in Fayetteville, AR.
