2nd post of the day, Have a question about coolant. In the car the coolant looks blue. I went to Kia and asked for the coolant they use on the Stinger. Went back home and opened the cap and noticed on the bottle it said green. I poured a little into a small water bottle and it is green. Would it be ok to use it or I just lost 20 bucks and have to get the blue stuff?

I had to look this up because when I was younger I mixed coolants and thought nothing of it but haven't done it in a long time. Google says not to do it though. Why are you adding coolant?

It's actually running low. Want to top it off.

Haha yes I made a thread about this not too long ago.

Hyundai /Kia are pathetically vague with their oil and coolant specifications.

The pre 2020 Stinger comes with green (turquoise) coolant. I was surprised as all new cars have pink/blue coolant.
The new Stinger come with modern pink coolant.

It's literally impossible to find a compatible coolant fot the Stinger as Kia does not specify the spec!

That sucks. I guess they gave me the pre 2020 coolant since mine's is the 2020 model.

What makes the pink stuff modern? I assume any color could be found at the dealer?

The colour of the fluid in that bottle matches with the non pink Stinger fluid.

The colour does not necessarily correlate with the specification.

However Kia has failed to advise the actual spec of the coolant.

Pink/red coolant ('OAT' most likely) is what many Mfgr are using and I'm assuming Kia/Hyundai made the switch too.

If all you're doing is topping up the overflow reservoir, just use distilled water.
