• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hey guys. Looking for any experiences with aftermarket intakes. Any issues with water/snow and especially with car washes? I know they’re the antichrist of the car care world but when it’s -20 for 2 straight weeks and there’s salt all over the place it’s the only real option for me for at least a few months of the year. Anyone have any issues?

Thanks!

Not much water here in cali but so far I had little issues with water in the filters. Do you have a vented hood or intake snorkels? if you do then you may have some issues. if not then you will be fine with zero problems. I have an open vented hood and intake snorkels. water does get into my engine bay when I wash it but it has never thrown a code or had any visible issues. even with wet filters I just drive half throttle for a bit until they dry off. the turbos turn all the water into vapor anyways.

I use to run a AEM CAI on my Genesis Coupe. Didn't have any issues in the winter (Northern Ontario). I did get the water resistant sock you can put over the filter.

Something like this...1-4000 AEM Air Filter Wrap

One time we had some flooding after some insane rain fall, I left my car at my parking spot downtown where I worked. I didn't wanna flood my engine with the air intake sitting that low to ground.

No issues with my AEM setup.
