I want to get rid of the chrome, but I always want it to last through automaric car washes. Are there any options or will the automatic car washes destroy it? (Think 1 car was every 2 weeks, and 1 car wash a week during winter). I feel like the vinyl would rip after a very short period of time? Do I have any other options or did people do a chrome delete and go through car washes without a problem?

Vinyl is very tough! - think of all the work trucks you see logo'd up, that's all vinyl

Automatic car was will destroy the whole car exterior, scratch plastics, rubber, paint! Automatic car washing a car such as the Stinger is sacrilege!

Hmm.... I mean... I see the passion that you have for the cars lol but idk if they are designed to be that way? I can't picture a stinger being scratched and stuff in a touchless wash

No touch only.... in this part of the world when it's 20 below freezing and your car is covered in salt, it's the only option

What year is your stinger? + how often do you take it to car wash throughout the year?

Oh you should specify in your question then, I thought you were talking about the regular automated car washes. Me as a crazy obsessed guy only washes my cars by hand and air dry them for minimal pain contact and friction.

Well this year is nowhere close to typical...
In the winter I'll do a touchless wash if it's dirty and we have had some snow, but only if the roads are clear / dry and no snow in the forecast for 3 days minimum... In the summer it stays clean much longer and I'm not worried about salt... but under the current situation, I wash it once a week -2weeks out of boredom

Why the 3 day forecast? Otherwise you'd have to do it again? AKA waste of the first wash?

Exactly. ..gets expensive if you have to do it every other day...

Not much in the way of mods... tint, badges, catch plates, and front and rear sway bars... OCC is the next mod

Did you do the sway bars yourself or went to a mechanic? What do you think will happen to your warranty? Or you don't think sway bars will affect it? (Just heard some nightmare stories)

I had them done at a mechanic.... but I called a few dealers before hand, one said they would do the install, but I would have to put it back to stock for any warranty claim, and strongly recommend against it.... Two other dealers said no warranty issue unless it was endlinks, but neither of them would do the install!

Out here Kia dealers carry and install Eibach sways and springs. My dealer had one over the winter with intakes, Borla catback, full Stingerhaus kit, and different wheels. They've got one right now on 20's with Pirellis and I think its the M&S kit. Wrapped the hood, roof and hatch as well.

They fired the Borla one up right in the showroom.

Must be nice living in Edmonton where they are honest. Not like the GTA where they tell you thay warrant will be voided if you don't purchase their rust protection.

Honest might be stretching it a bit. Or a lot. WE have our share of shady dealers, mine just seems to be less so.

I don't know how I survived all the years before I started using a blower to blow-dry my car.
