Hi all,

First, I'm generally pretty unfamiliar with rim/tire nuances, so if my questions don't make sense, let me know--because even just making sense is a win.

I have winters on the car now. I need new summer tires, and I'd like to take that opportunity to:
- Get a tire with a bigger sidewall to increase wear time and reduce ride harshness.
- Get a set of rims that are smaller and lighter.
- Make all wheels the same size so that they can be rotated.

I have picked out a package of reasonably priced, reasonably lightweight rims and tires from tirerack.com. There is an option to have them mounted on the rims and shipped that way. If I did this:
- Is it really just as simple as changing the tires out (I've never done this on a TPMS car)?
- Are there any implications I need to think about in terms of going to a smaller size?
- Are there any implications I need to think about in terms of going from 9.5s on the back to 8.5s on the back?

I'm having a "it can't be the simple can it?" moment here. Any help is appreciated. Thank you much!

Yes. Tpms will sync after about 5-10 miles assuming you order from tr with the tpms sensors installed.

if revolutions per mile are same as oem, no issue.

if not, as long as front rear are same, no issue other than possible odometer / speed not matching driving.

no.

Hey, thank you! This all seems pretty straightforward then. Going to put the order for the new rims and tires in today. Much appreciated!
