I got some new Vertini rims on the way.. I'm thinking of coating em with ceramic before mounting.. any of you guys done this? If so is it worth it and looking for some brand recommendations. Thanks
Absolutely worth it! Do the inside barrel as well. Plenty of product out there and it would be hard to differentiate between brands.
Edit. Do calipers as well and do multiple coats. It's time consuming but well worth the effort.
I've used Gyeon Rim in the past on several occasions with success. Easy to use, and lasts a long time. My 19" Sport wheels and Brembo calipers are coated, and clean up super easy with excellent water beading. Do two coats, waiting about an hour between coats. And absolutely do the inner barrel.
Ideally, coat after mounting and balancing tires. If you coat beforehand, clean the area where a stick on weight will go with IPA and a microfiber towel. Bring them to the place that's installing the tires and tip the tech $20. Or, coat after, like previously mentioned.

Coating is well worth the effort, but I did have some trouble with the weights. I’ve done three sets of wheels now.
All the weights were laying in the bed of my truck after mounting and balancing the first set. Had to go back and figure something out.
Now I help out at the shop by cleaning the spot the laser marks with some alcohol (which is probably doing nothing) and then really massaging the weight into place. Also helpds not to get a dirty thumb print on the adhesive.
If you just stick them on real quick they lift right off. Gotta put a little back into it for a minute and it sticks pretty good.
Once they’re mounted on the car the centrifugal force while driving does the rest of the work and they won’t fall off.
My wheel guy uses the really nice 3M weight strips that they cut to length. The lead weighs would be much more difficult to persuade (we tried).
It would be an extra pain to do the coating if the tires were mounted already, plus they use that tire grease that gets all over the place. I like them surgical clean; spread out some towels on the kitchen table and work like a gentleman.
Not that the brand matters too much, but I use Gtechniq Crystal Sirum Light since that’s what I used on the car and I already know how it behaves.
Like you, I'm waiting for my Vertini wheels to arrive (RFS1.1s). I have been coating the wheels on my last few cars. Makes cleaning so much easier. Will coat the Vertinis after mounting/balancing.
