Car Seats and Sun Blinds

Hi all,

I've just put a deposit down on Kings Lynn Kia's 69 Plate Hichroma Red GT-S Demonstrator , I'd like to get some bits for the little ones in the back ready for when I (eventually) pick it up!

My eldest's car seat (AXIKid something or other) has left some nasty dents in the seat of my current Focus, any experience if the seats are a little more resilient to not getting dented from car seats or should i invest in some car seat protectors?

Also sunblinds! Does anywhere do custom fit rear sunblinds? Google has not been my friend on this so far. Recommendations welcome if you've found one that fits snug and looks a little better than the bright Water Babies ones i'm currently using!

Looking forward to owning this beast, and upsetting my neighbour 2 doors down that just took delivery of a 2.0 GT-Line because his other half couldn't get insured on the GT-S

When I was a daddy with little ones, a blankie held up in the closed window did the trick. And as for car seats pressing dents into the seats: pretty much a frustrating crusade, I think. If it were me, I'd lay a thick blanket down there too, to transfer direct pressure over a wider area. Probably the dents will still wind up in the leather, but they should be fainter, and for sure no direct wear from the seat since it won't make direct contact.

That car seat system looks pretty nifty, are you using one with the rails and everything?
Have a diono that utilizes legs that leave some serious dents on everything it's on - got the thick angle adjuster pad that helps along with a seat protector pad like Gaetman posted. (Not sure if the angle adjuster wedge for your car seat can do something similar). Also have a britax that has a pretty flat base, not as bad for the dents but I feel the angle and orientation of the leather seats, particularly with the depth of the LATCH anchors makes the seats a bit likely to dent in without any protection, and with the diono, even with a normal seat protector pad.

I used to be a skeptic of aftermarket tint until I really realized the particular benefit of reduction in heat radiation with the tint along with a degree of glare/brightness. The magnetic window shades above I think was the second option I was considering.

Thanks, yes I have window tint which is max. 35% legal here in the state of NSW, this just increases the privacy in the rear & also provides added protection with the summer sun.
