Hey everyone,

Just picked up a 2019 GT2 and love it. It was originally sold in Canada in Montreal Quebec then imported to the states after about 2 years. I understand that when these cars cross the border on import US Kia dealers will not honor warranty. The dealership i bought the car from gave me a 5 year bumper to bunper warranty, but I know its tricky sometimes to get shops to accept those third party warranties. Thing is, I live near Detroit Michigan and the Windsor, Ontario Kia dealer is about 25 minutes away form me. If I just hop over to Windsor for any warranty work will the Kia dealers in Canada still honor the warranty or is it void in total now that its been imported?

Welcome to the hive! I would ask the windsor dealer, I can't imagine that they would deny any warranty work, but I never hurts to ask... and you already have a backup plan in place

I would suspect the VIN would be assigned as an American car now and the Canadian dealer probably wont honour the warranty. I couod be wrong though so I'd call the Ontario dealer, you never know, maybe they wont have an issue with it.

Howdy and welcome. Interesting question! I hope that you gain satisfaction, one plan or the other.
